Folks who plan on visiting Akihabara on their next visit may want to stop off at Gamers which is situated near the "Electric Town" exit.
There you will now be able to pick up a map in English of the whole Akiba area. If I see one I will pick one up and scan it for you. Not sure how Engrishy it is though.
Speaking of Engrish, do any of you read the Engrish Akiba Blog?

English Akiba Map news from the Japanese Akiba Blog.

If you are interested in reading about life in Japan, seeing photos taken daily around Tokyo, like Japanese subculture (anime, manga, figures, Dollfies) then you may want to start delving into the Japan or Figure categories for a start or have a gander at all photo articles.

If you don't have much time now, maybe subscribe to the RSS Feed, Twitter Feed or join the other readers in the FaceBook Page.
Alternatively, you may want to read more about the site.
If you are a regular reader then this message will probably annoy you each time - hide it forever.

This item was posted in the Otaku category. You can see more of everything else or subscribe via RSS instead.

LOL, but really I just can't understand how they accomplish all those mistakes. Don't they even ask a native speaker about the correctness of words or sentences since these writings will be all over signs, newspapers etc.

I think I got an english guide to Akiba... but it's almost 3 yrs old already.
Have to look back at home though, not 100% shure of this.
But I bought a japanese guide on Maid Cafes and some other stuff, even though I couldn't understand them. :P

Sometimes I go to Akibablog... very nice. Thinking of adding it to my RSS reader.

A map in English is most useful. It is the first thing I grab from the hotel lobby before going out to wander around.

I think the Akihabara map needs the street names (in native language) as well, so I can re-orientate myself if I get lost.

Danny, one question. Are foreigners allowed to patronise maid cafes? The last time I went there with my 2 buddies, I got sort of rejected with a "No english" reply from the counter girl (partly cause I was trying to converse in my very broken Japanese and okay English).
