My latest SAF courtesy of comrades Kid Nemo.
This Alter figure of Kanu is not available anywhere in Japan anymore - I was devastated!
Kid Nemo was kind enough to send one over together with a coolsome Kid Nemo T-shirt.
Was also pleased to discover that her skirt easily casts of despite what I've read on other blogs - maybe Kanu loosened it a bit for me ^^;
Full review of Kanu soon.

Folks in Los Angeles can meet up with Kid Nemo at Anime Expo being held from Today through to the 6th. They will be at the 700 isle.

OK - me back to work on that figure and japan portal...

If you are interested in reading about life in Japan, seeing photos taken daily around Tokyo, like Japanese subculture (anime, manga, figures, Dollfies) then you may want to start delving into the Japan or Figure categories for a start or have a gander at all photo articles.

If you don't have much time now, maybe subscribe to the RSS Feed, Twitter Feed or join the other readers in the FaceBook Page.

When you say that, is there a easier way to take it off instead of ripping off her top body and slipping the skirt through her torso? That was sooooo hard to do. Ripping off the top part of the body was sooo hard. I thought I was gonna break it.

I don't favor either KidNemo or ToysLogic. The only thing both of them are good at is collecting money from you. When it comes to attending to customers, such as queries or how prompt they are in shipping your order, they are at the bottom of the barrel.

Take, for instance, ToysLogic. There is a list of countries they don't accept credit card order in their FAQ page. Since Singapore is not in the list, I submitted my order using credit card. Four days later, I got curious why my order (which is in stock) still hasn't shipped or anything. So I emailed them to see what's going on. They said they don't accept credit card from Singapore. "So update your bleeding list, or at least tell me instead of making me wait 4 days! How many freaking days are you going to make me wait if I didn't email you?" I nearly screamed at them. Needless to say, since they have no interest in making money, from then on I give my business exclusively to HobbySearch or PlayAsia instead.

Well OtakuFuel also made me wait a long time before telling me about this Kanu fig that I pre-ordered from them. They ordered theirs from another distributor and got theirs later than other places, but did not tell me until I asked. I happened to ask a day before they got the figure, so I didn't cancel my order and got it after the weekend. I was a bit upset about that too but in the end I got exactly what I wanted so I didn't complain.

The figure is very nice, easily the best Kanu fig out now. Skirt casts off, but looks weird with it off so I left it on. But it was a bit annoying trying to "wiggle" off her top half to get the plastic off.

I see you are in California.

The figure scene in the US is different. There are direct imports from Japan and there are local distributors such as AAA Anime and Diamond Comic Distributors. The local distributors get their figures months after the Japanese but the trade-off is cheaper figures.

In this way, if the Japanese imports are all sold out, you can still hope to snag one from the US local distributors.

I am in the US, but the point was that like you, they didn't give me what I thought was relevant information until I went and asked. Yet in the end, they still got me what I wanted.

And yeah, this Kanu fig was only the 2nd figure I've ordered from a store like this but now I know the deal.

While you did what you wanted, the question is whether the retailer offered a good enough shopping experience for you to return to them. Afterall, they aren't the only fish in the pond and, for all intent and purpose, the end product is all identical.

Perhaps I am not familiar about the level of customer service from retailers in the US, but I thought something as basic as offering relevant information should be done without prodding from the customer. Taking your money and keeping quiet seems tantamount to holding you ransom.

Japan is out? I'm shocked usually it's the opposite where in the U.S. we're all competing on eBay to buy figures at ludicrous prices that are found much easier in Japan. I like the black variant of this Kanu more...but then again I'm not a fan of the ikkitousan girls anyway. But I can still tell it's a very nice figure.

I love this figure! Got it from HobbySearch and they shipped it to me just 2 days after its release in Japan. Although the shipping charge is little too high for HobbySearch cause they shipped EMS only, but you get your figures fast. Like in my case, generally 3 to 4 days to reach me in the US East Coast everytime. Btw, I only took this figure out to examine once and now its back to its display box. I only keep 3 figures outside on my desk everytime.
