Alter Mikuru
This 1/8 scale figure of Mikuru by Alter just came out and you can get the reviews at FooBarBaz and Akiba Hobby.
Nice figure but theres something about the face. Not sure what it is.

I usually love Alter's sculpts but...this doesn't feel like Mikuru. The hair color also seems like it should be a shade lighter, more like the color of the first Max Factory Mikuru.

I had this preordered, but I canceled my order as soon as I saw Max Factory's equivalent. This figure really doesn't capture Mikuru that well. The colors are too drab and her pose has no "oomph".

It is a very nice figure overall. But I wont buy any Haruhi and Ikkitousen figures because there are simply too many of them. I suspect the studios make a lot more money from figure and other character goods than the show itself.

Mikuru is my least favorite girl character in The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi. To me, she's just ditzy moe character #23164. Next, please!
Having said that, the sculpt is well-done, though the shoes are (while accurate) flat-out ugly. Nice fried soba maid/waitress costume and nice expression (though the face is kinda chubby). I'd rather get Alter lol-fang tan (Tsuruya).

Probably b'cos we are all used to seeing a nervy/panicky Mikuru ... in this case, the sculptor probably did the figure without the image of Haruhi near Mikuru in his mind. ^_^
Face wise, I always felt Alter does not make as good a figure face compared to Max Factory or GSC.
