The amount of comments for this post goes to show you that you need an open mind if you are looking for lady love in Japan.
Her name is Haruna Ai but her former name used to be Kenji - Kenji is a boys name.

Haruna has had the operations necessary to transform "himself" into a complete woman. There are many "New halfs" on TV but me thinks Haruna is the cutest of the bunch and if nobody told me then I would have never known that she was previously a man.

Now that many of you admitted that shes cute, if you married Haruna only to be told after 10 years of happy marriage that she was formerly a man, would that change how you feel about her?

Haruna is most popular for her Air Ayaya performance below.

Haruna on a chat show below.

Sorry for the trap question - you know I like to get up to mischief from time to time ^^;
But I'm not the only one - Hangmen13 asked the other trap question yesterday ^^;

My original text below.

Simple question folks. What do you think of this girl? She's is a potential 3D mascot for one of my blogger comrades and he wants to know if she has that "mascot feel" to her.

If you are interested in reading about life in Japan, seeing photos taken daily around Tokyo, like Japanese subculture (anime, manga, figures, Dollfies) then you may want to start delving into the Japan or Figure categories for a start or have a gander at all photo articles.

If you don't have much time now, maybe subscribe to the RSS Feed, Twitter Feed or join the other readers in the FaceBook Page.
Alternatively, you may want to read more about the site.
If you are a regular reader then this message will probably annoy you each time - hide it forever.

        Aha! I knew there was something missing! It's the "natural" feel of a woman that's missing. One may change his/her appearance, but you can not really change what's inside. Damn I must have a six sense for these things XD

        I think she's ideal mascot material. Have to agree with comments about her looks and figure (all good), but with the age range that she is capable of showing given the correct outfit/make-up/lighting/etc. she should appeal to a huge range of admirers.

    I'd give her an 8.5, judging from this picture she looks very pretty in regular clothes, not so astonishing, but I'm sure if she wears something sexy and with some sexy poses she is going to look great. I think I'd need some full body pictures to see if I'm underscoring or if I'm being too generous XD.

    If it has to do with pretty asian ladies, I see no problem.

    But for instance, she wouldn't fit as my blog's mascot. Not because of how she looks or anything like that, but my blog is anime-and-gamer-otaku-oriented, so 2D girls are more fitting.

    she looks like the woman who lip syncs to aya matsuura's songs. she's become rather famous for it from what i've seen so far. i saw her on haromoni@ once when she was owner of a small restaurant and she'd put on a make-shift lip sync performance, and just today, i saw her on the newest episode of haromoni@ performing in front of a crowd with aya watching.

    Not bad, very mascot-y... She's attractive indeed. As a mascot, she should leave an impression on ya. Color me impressed, but can she cook?

    Honestly, she lacks photogecicness.... *sorry for spelling* Her pictures lack any sense of honest emotions. So, considering Japan is CRAMMED with women willing to model and be a mascot, this is a flat out pass. Keep looking.

    I think she would make a very good mascot. As some of the people above said, she may have "something missing", but then again, nobody has EVERYTHING, so with that in mind, I say you should reccomend her to be said blogs mascot.

    1) For all those who said something was missing, you now know what that "something" is.
    2) I'm laughing with you, not at you. I made the same mistake. I assumed female. Even now knowing she used to be a guy, (s)he's still cute. Still...
    3) If I were married to someone like her and after 10 years she told me that... well... many things run through my mind. I know that if I stay with her, I'd remain feeling uncomfortable. I'd make sure she knows and if the marriage were to continue, the feeling of discomfort would need to be worked on. This would become my problem to overcome. Understand that all that I've said really means nothing because I truly wouldn't know what I'd do unless it actually happens, but I sense that to be the likely outcome.

    After ten years that wouldn't matter. Something must be right to have been together for that long and even though she was once a man, as a woman she's beautiful. I would have never figured it out, to tell the truth. I knew she looked older but that's about it; still beautiful.

    she use to be a "him" ? holy cow. i never had a doubt in my mind...that is utterly amazing.

    and as for danny's question, id be so pissed off if someone i was with for 10 years suddenly told me that she used to be a "him" ouch.

    but another question for you guys. didnt mean to hi-jack this post, but would you rather not know that "she" used to be a him if you guys had been together for 10 years?

    I would be pretty mad if she didn't tell me that she used to be a man before marrying, or even before even thinking about marriage. She looks cute and all, if I wasn't told I wouldn't know that she used to be a man, but it's still something I'd like to know. I agree with GTR anyways, I wouldn't divorce her if she told me 10 years later, but I would be shocked. ^_^

    hahah. great trap danny.

    if I was told after 10yrs of marriage that my wife was a he I really wouldn't know what to do to be honest. Which raises the question, since you know now that your wife was once a he...will you be considered a homo? what exactly does it mean to be a homo in this situation? (no offense to the gay people here) Its just a question that popped up in my head.

    Well Danny, well played you tricked us all. And some serious kudos to miss Haruna Ai,s he has definitely made an amazing transformation!

    I accept that she is a very cute girl, but as for your question, If I married her and only found out 10 years later I'd feel totally betrayed. If I knew beforehand I'd still be quite hesitant about a relationship, but I'd like to think I'm progressive enough to date a girl like that.

    Oh, can't believe I fell for it. It felt strange that you didn't say for which site she should become the mascot but I still went along with it. I must admit (s)he looks good. (It's luck I found her too old and prefered Mirai) After 10 yrs of mariage I wouldn't divorce because of her being him, but I would ask my wife she didn't say anything (didn't trust me or what?) and would possibly divorce after that. It seems a bit disgusting now, but maybe after 10 yrs of marriage you wouldn't mind.
