I've played lots of visual novels, and dating sims and I don't see what's wrong with it. I haven't played an eroge though.

Personally i love to play them (i am a guy), but it is hard to find good english ones and even harder to find the animated eroge which are the best.

I would read/play eroge if I were to able to understand japanese or know how to get english patch.........you should show me those 3 that you are playing if it in english....

Speaking as an otaku, I think a girl who plays eroge is totally awesome, also girls who collect figures and do other otaku activities. But the eroge seems like it would be more rare and for me seems more interesting. I wish I knew girls who played eroge, lol

It's fine for girls to play eroge. However, I would probably find it awkward if my girlfriend and I both sat down and played an eroge together... But then again, I wouldn't play eroge if I actually had a girlfriend. However, I think it would feel kind of awkward if I played an eroge together with friends as well. Eroges (for me anyway) is meant to be played alone.

Girl here; I'm going to agree with the majority and say it's perfectly fine. whether the reason is for cute pictures, story, or well, ero (xD) are all valid reasons.

why not? if it interest them by all means. although i dun have much time to play eroges, i like to see the original character int he ero when compared to the anime ( prism ark eroge looks soooooo much better then the anime. Precia doesn't look so... let's jsut say she looks gentler in the eroge)

As a girl, I'd like to play them for the stories and characters. I might skip through the ero scenes though. I've only recently started checking out visual novels, so I haven't gotten to any dating sims or eroge games. I'd um...like to know where I could find some translated ones though....
Yaoi might be OK if it was actually well written, but what little I've seen (and I'll admit it's VERY little), has been trash.

It's perfectly fine if you're in it just for the story. Many play these games for the story. Some even skip the ero scenes. There are even non-ero versions of certain ero-games.

I stick to yaoi games because... i prefer pOnOs way more than anything with a vagOOO... but I'm not above playing normal eroge. I don't find anything wrong with girls playing eroge. Just because it's aimed at a certain demogrpahic doesn't mean those're the only people allowed to play. I'd also imagine guys would like eroge-playing girls. Look at how popular Konata is!

If guys can play eroge, I don't see any problem girl playing eroge as well. After going to second day of Comiket(day for yaoi) and see the place full of otaku girls, I don't really have much of different opinion of them as from otaku guys ^^;

I dunno, I played too many eroge to count now. I started like back when I was about 15 years old, now I'm almost 22. Nothing weird about girls wanting to play it, because honestly some of them have amazing stories, plus it's a bit fun "living" in someone elses shoes and seeing how the decisions you make effect the outcome.

Just continue doing what you do, don't mind what others say. :P After all if you do meet someone who can't accept your hobbies and whatnot, you might wanna reconsider them as friends

Hey I'm a non-otaku guy and I'm here. Thats not because I think otaku are slimy socially incompetent nerds, but lately it seems the requirements are quite steep. Frankly I would consider myself more of a Japanophile, who, among other things, enjoys anime and manga, yet not to an obsessive level.

I have almost played eroge before, but that kind of thing often makes me feel a bit pathetic. I don't really get why, since I don't think people who play eroge are pathetic.

But, as a "non-otaku guy" I would say its awesome for girls to play eroge. It would be most coolsome to play eroge with my girlfriend.

For some typical people, I could say that won't be normal, normally, guys would love to play as such, but it's indecent if a girl plays an eroge game. It's not cool, referring from the post above, maybe if you want to know what's the point of these girls playing eroge, I think that would be reasonable but first impressions are people being naive.

The girls here in Danny Choo are very interesting indeed! I wish I could meet girls like them someday. Well, if I speak as an average joe it's not normal for a girl to do such things, but it's not totally wrong. If I speak as an otaku, I would immediately ask the girl: " Will you go out with me?" Good 'ol eroge, the thing that made me realize anime is so not squeaky clean as Sailor Senshi :D But nonetheless, I find it very OK since it's enjoyable and a great conversation topic if you're bold enough. I guess, it takes a lady to handle the flavor the topic is given. Personally, I really dig in for art style since I draw too and it's a shameless fascination of mine to draw females ;)

a bit off-topic: I just have the irk that yaoi is bashfully treated (my apologies to whoever I might offend) but I think girls who enjoy it must be respected too. After all, we don't mind that guys enjoy what nature has to offer :)

Girls playing eroge is normal, and their interest into yaoi is normal, too; just like how typical otaku finds yuri "hot". On that note, I don't find a girl that likes eroge hot or anything, IMHO "hot" depends on other aspects of the particular girl. Judging 3d girls and 2 girls are totally different matters and unrelated in many ways, don't blind your judgement :).

On that note, I haven't met any girl that plays eroge here (otaku are rare here and fujoshi even more so) but I did meet a few that do watch AV and even openly talk about it. Being a little intimidated at first, but after a while I find them just normal and some of them even are even interesting to talk to.

The characters are cute, the story-lines are well set out and the systems are fun to figure out. Hard to explain but, I do enjoy playing them ^o^
