Guilt-trips won't work on me and dejected looking idols don't turn me on either. Surely there must be better marketing and promotion tactics than playing the sympathy card.

I think they should change that price to 4200 yen, throw a big smile with genki energy on and setup a small team with her shirts to help hand out flyers! That way people think it's a promotion. That price tag is too low it almost devalues her (so the droopy face).

Not everyone knows that she's struggling so she's got to keep promoting herself! Hell, I'm sure any one of us would gladly volunteer some time to help promote her and take pictures with her right?

Yeah, it's almost depressing to look at that pic. We should all choose a day to send traffic to her site (I hope her site monetizes traffic).

Don't want to be mean, but to be an outstanding idol you'd need to have a special charm and/or some luck as well, or else you'd become just one of the thousands of unknown idols in the idols industry. >_<; Honestly, this idol doesn't seem to have any outstanding charm, but she's kinda cute for a normal girl.
Selling the DVDs in such a low price might mean the end of her idol career as this devalues her a lot. >_<; As others said, she could have tried a more cheerful approach, which is much more attractive and certainly attracts more attention even if she's not popular, just like a true idol does (a ture idol can naturally attract attention with her special charm).
But well, have pride, even if you can't become a famous idol, you're certainly a cute girl. ^_^

I probably would buy her DVD. Some of my buddies say the same thing happens in China, where 14 or 15 year old girls run up to you basically begging you to buy their product. You feel bad and you end up buying something you don't need (although you only pay maybe $1 or $2 for the product).
