Was watching the news t'other day (as one does) and saw this report. Some fellow decided that he would put ice cream in a post box...Somehow, the incident was traced back to him and he got arrested...
I do have my complaints about Japan but its generally safe here - so safe that stories like this make the news - this is prime time news at 6PM on major channels folks!

Seriously, I really like the fact that I can walk the streets at night without having to look behind all the time - a habit that took a bit of time to wear off after living in Hackney for 27 years.
I was surprised when I first started to live here to see things like people walking into a Mc Donalds for example and leaving their bag on a chair - then walking to the counter to buy their grub. If people did that in the UK - the bag would be gone in an instant! People here just leave things lying around and its usually there when they get back. People also leave their front door unlocked (generally).

Yes, people do get stabbed once in a while here and people also do things like make buildings which are not earth-quake resistant but watching the news over here is not half as bad as the news in the UK. The last time I was over there, I saw stories of people deliberately setting fires so that they can beat up the fire brigade when they arrived...
The National Health Service is a shambles as usual, and sprinkle that with a few shootings n stabbings and you have a recipe for another depressing News at 10...

Read the icecream news at Asahi and Mainichi news...

I don't mind more of Ice-cream in mailbox crimes in Singapore or around the world for that matter, it's better to have a mailbox full of ice-cream than some murder to be on the headlines...

    Maybe the postbox was hungry?

How did they track him anyways? Cameras? Eye-witnesses? GPS?!

They must be putting GPS chips in the ice-cream!!! Nooooooooooooo~!
