Member News Etc
Its great that many of you are using the uploader to upload goodies - many gems to be found in there. Sometimes it can be difficult to find gems due to boo boo items being posted too.
Another problem is that posts which initially go to the top page get thousands of views but could be pushed off the top page by more moo moo posts.
Was thinking of a http://digg.com/ style rating where users vote for their fave items by digging through a list of newly uploaded items. The problem here is that only a small percent of folks actually go digging for items.
A larger percent would actually vote for items which are surfaced by the diggers.
The problem with digg is that its controlled by groups of folks who get together and say "lets surface that item" so its not really a community decision.
Technology is not a problem but want to do this right and need your input as how you think we should manage gems, boo boo's and the whole Member News section.
