Been looking at my News Items of late and thinking that the content has gone a bit too ecchi ^^;
Will tone down a bit on the ecchi stuff back to nominal levels but will continue to post figures where many of them are ecchi anyway - like this sample review of Beat Blades Naruka - more pics at Akiba Hobby.
Quite like the look of the sculpt and paintwork but do think the camel-toe-in-plain-sight is a bit unnecessary.

So back to what I was on about earlier. I do try to cater the content in articles for the majority of readers like the "week in tokyo series" and "japan office tours" etc etc and you will notice that the amount of ecchi stuff in there is nominal. One of the aims of the articles is to write stuff that would be interesting to read in a years time hence the "this time last year" feature which gets thousands of views per day even though they are a year old.

I was once upon a time a wee young lad too and I know that its important to maintain good heath so I will still post images or links to 2D girlies/idols but will keep a balance.

As for the Member News, I put a note on the uploader asking for folks not to post pics of 2 or 3D pics of girls in a wide open pose but the message has been ignored which has lead to members automatically retiring themselves which is a shame. Pantsu is still fine (like this) as pantsu will always be a part of otaku culture and the legs are not doing the splits - hope this is fine with you too.

Loli pics are fine but not when they are in suggestive poses. And if you are wondering about the PE post - replaced it. Was my bad and I think it was a tad OTT for dannychoo.com. Also deleted a vid of a girl eating a banana - lets keep those out.

Its difficult to please all but will try to cater for the majority.
"I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody" - Bill Cosby

If you are interested in reading about life in Japan, seeing photos taken daily around Tokyo, like Japanese subculture (anime, manga, figures, Dollfies) then you may want to start delving into the Japan or Figure categories for a start or have a gander at all photo articles.

If you don't have much time now, maybe subscribe to the RSS Feed, Twitter Feed or join the other readers in the FaceBook Page.
Alternatively, you may want to read more about the site.
If you are a regular reader then this message will probably annoy you each time - hide it forever.

This item was posted in the Figures category. You can see more of everything else or subscribe via RSS instead.

    I noticed the echiness going up as well. Not that I would mind, but I think it's a good idea to keep it at a certain level.
    cute figure btw, pantsu is ok.

    mmm just need a subaru figure to come out than i can stop worrying about beat blades haruka preorders ^^;;

    as far as the site content... personally i'm so desensitized it takes a lot to bother me... 'course i go through 200-400 items a day with my rss reader so i'm used to skimming over content i'm not interested in ^^;;; too bad the ecchiness of a news item isn't easily quantifiable by an algorithm... guess that's one of the difficulties of web 2.0 stuff...

          Apparently I don't visit the site enough to see the stuff being referred too. I've never seen any ms. wide-open stuff other than the one that Danny posted about it.

          I'm assuming a lot of the stuff that's getting removed is when I'm sleeping? Only thing I seen actually removed was the PE one.

    Ah, I spent some time debating with the PE post before posting it myself.

    That being why I left a note in the original PE article, that if Danny thought it was too much he could either tag it adult or whatever.

    Glad to see that my weekly Panchira shots will be able to continue at least, considering I have nearly over 30 weeks of them lined up ^^;

    I do feel a bit bad about the whole PE thing now though. :( I leave myself at your mercy guys.

    To toss in my, not needed at all but will still give it anyways, two cents. The ecchi posts were getting out of hand not only for the content but because they were just being posted for ecchi sack and not newsworthy at all. I just think that if people just want to post ecchi pictures do that in 4chan or else where. However, if you have something newsworthy to post and something ecchi would add to the story than that's good so long as it stays withen the rules of posting. Self Moderation is definitely key to success and maybe a handful of moderators would be good. Maybe even just a simple flagging system would work even better.

    I was also starting to question the amount of Ecchi and Eroge reference posts knocking about, since I remember you talking about how younger people do visit these forums. Perhaps all the member news under those categories may need to be moderated, or perhaps section off some of the more visual stuff away from the regular member news which shows on the front page. This kind of thing definitely needs to be kept around though (within reason), otherwise I would be insulting my Otaku nature.

What I love about the content is about the information (Japanese culture, otaku, member's room, etc.) which is very interesting. I agree with Danny to draw some lines if lots of younger audiences come to this site. There are tons of site to post/view PE/wide open pics and I hope that this site do not come to that path.
