When theres no time to eat out then its time to go grab a bento lunch box and eat in the office - Some Meitaiko+Nori on rice and Korokke with side dish of salad and Konomi.
Do they sell Bento box lunches in your region too?

they do sell packed lunch and at a cost....
but their packaging display is not as nice as what you have in japan unless you go for top restaurant and order takeaway---price matters and its serving is so little. not all restaurant have delivery service

Back in Surabaya there is one supermarket that sells Japanese bento, but the pricing is simply way too high.
If memory serves one bento costs 25,000 rupiah (about 300 yen) while eating at standard restaurants would usually cost about 10,000 rupiah (plus drink)..

But the pricing is kinda understandable since many expatriates shop there.

But I wouldn't say that they are all that good, except for Konbinya downtown. ><

That bento looks wonderful. Very difficult to find such a thing in Chicago-- have to go out to the suburbs.

The bentos I found at supermarkets here are smaller and more expensive than local chicken rice, nasi lemak and nasi kandar. I do understand Japanese has smaller appetites but to big eaters like me, bento is like a meal for a mouse. I'm okay with Japanese foods but I just find the portion too small and not worth it.

The super market that I work at sell some go sushi. I just get the vegitarian and califoria roll most of the time. The sushi bar is run by an outside company and the head chief has very high standards. No fat, equal preportion, and quality.
