#v#flv_godannar.jpg#v#Godannar has been out for a while now but is definitely worth mentioning. I am not too sure how popular this was in the west though. The story line summed up in a sentence is "mecha robots piloted by moe characters beating seven shades of shite of of evil monsters" - how much more complicated would you want it to get eh? Very smooth animation (especially the wobbly bits - yes, all the female characters wobble), and the mecha design is reminiscent of Mazinger Z.
If you are interested in reading about life in Japan, seeing photos taken daily around Tokyo, like Japanese subculture (anime, manga, figures, Dollfies) then you may want to start delving into the Japan or Figure categories for a start or have a gander at all photo articles.
