Tokyo move

#v#flv_tokyomove.jpg#v#I only managed to take a few clips when moving into our house this year so this clip is very short. Ari San is the moving company we chose - we used them once before and the service is absolutely fantastic. This time it cost us about 60,000 yen which was really reasonable for the quality of their service. Its really interesting watching them - they kind of run around like ants! (the Japanese word for ant is "Ari")
In Japan, many staircases are just so narrow (like ours) that things like beds, refrigerators and such just wont go through so they have to be hauled up to the second floor as you can see in the video. Many moving companies will lift the item up to the second floor with a rope but these clever chaps at Ari San are using the roof of their truck as a platform to pass the stuff to the second floor. They brought up tables, the refrigerator, bed and wot not.
Notice that the walls and bannisters are covered with a protective sponge to prevent any damage - and all the items wrapped in blanketing too. I tell you - the service in Japan (in most cases) is excellent.
Just a quick note - I may take the weekends off (JST) from time to time and if I do, the usual blogging will continue on Mondays ^o^/.
If you are interested in reading about life in Japan, seeing photos taken daily around Tokyo, like Japanese subculture (anime, manga, figures, Dollfies) then you may want to start delving into the Japan or Figure categories for a start or have a gander at all photo articles.
If you don't have much time now, maybe subscribe to the RSS Feed, Twitter Feed or join the other readers in the FaceBook Page.
Alternatively, you may want to read more about the site.
If you are a regular reader then this message will probably annoy you each time - hide it forever.
