Better late than never - coverage of Tokyo CGM Night 8. Thought I'd upload before Tokyo CGM Night 9 and Singapore CGM Night this November.
Tokyo CGM Night is an event which I host to bring together smart and interesting people who engage others online through the creation of content.
CGM stands for Consumer Generated Media and refers to social media, blog and video content that is generated by consumers. We also bring in the best from the industry to network with the media generators which results in new friendship and business opportunities.
The member list includes folks from Disney Japan, Apple, Nike, Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Rakuten, Good Smile Company, Kotobukiya, Cospa, Bushi Road, Nitro Plus, AmiAmi, Obitsu, Volks and more.
Tis an invite only event where members get to bring new people along who then bring their comrades along to the next event. The event has remained invite only to ensure that attendees can participate and know that everybody in the room shares a common interest and passion for sharing content. All members are Twitter users.
Apart from networking, folks get to look at figure, doll or gadget prototypes brought in by the manufacturers and win some of the goodies that they always bring along.
Tokyo CGM night has been featured on CNET and Crunch Gear and is where Poken Japan officially launched to be one of the hottest social networking devices in Japan. CGM Night is also held outside of Japan and the last one was in Los Angeles. Previous CGM Night reports live here.
Tokyo CGM Night is an event with international attendees where the main language is Japanese. Over 80% of the attendee list are comprised of Japanese locals who are all active media generators on blogs and other social media.
If all the attendees were to write about a certain subject, that message would be instantly disseminated to millions of people worldwide.
My vision is for Tokyo CGM Night to continue to bring like minded talented folks together where new relationships and collaborations blossom.
