World Hobby Festival

The World Hobby Festival (otherwise known as WHF) is an event held throughout the year in Japan - the next one is December 23rd and I will be going to take a zillion photos and bring you a report of whats on show. Just imagine a huge hall full of Gundams, Bishojo figures, toys, toys and more toys - WHF.
You can see a glimpse of some of the Bishojo figures at the WHF held in Kobe last July - some of the "normal" (and lots more) and rated 18 (and more)... This guy didnt take any Gundam shots but I will be this December.
The thing about these shows is that there are many items which you can only get by attending a show - stuff like these (images below) goodies from Toys Brand. Items like these are usually made by individuals who sell their works at toy fairs like the WHF and Wonder Festival. If you are in Tokyo this December - you may want to consider attending. The entrance fee is 1,000 yen yen and there will be people queuing up at 3am! The Next event will be held at Tokyo Big Site. Take along about 100,000 yen with you as each item ( and you will want MANY ) will go for about 7,000 yen upwards.

If you are interested in reading about life in Japan, seeing photos taken daily around Tokyo, like Japanese subculture (anime, manga, figures, Dollfies) then you may want to start delving into the Japan or Figure categories for a start or have a gander at all photo articles.
If you don't have much time now, maybe subscribe to the RSS Feed, Twitter Feed or join the other readers in the FaceBook Page.
