Manga Textbooks

Ah yes, I've seen things like this here actually. I was about to cover this same topic in an upcoming article on my site. *has loads of backed up articles due to surgery hospital stay*

But these do exist in english too. :D

If only I were a freshman in college again... I'd buy these books despite their subjects.

I would do waaaaay better and pay more attention if my books were manga stylized!

I wonder if manga would have helped me with maths, I'm awful at it lol! I think my mandarin improved when I started reading translated comics ^^;

As for me, it would be more simple despite the illustation help a lot, especially for those whom not really like the words so much.(I also refer the word only type but it only comes out more confusion if there is no illustration or anything...)

I wonder if they have calculus...

I need textbooks like these.... it'd make it so much easier to digest all the knowledge in textbooks ^^;

Make one for my Automata Theory class next quarter and I'll be good to go! XD

This would be an interesting text book to have. I know I've retained a lot of useless information because I read in manga form, maybe if I read up on important stuff in manga form I'd be able to remember it better.

It does make a difference in my opinion. Forrest Mims III added little cartoon like pictures to his writings with little side notes. And the overall personalized touch made learning electronics fun and fascinating for me. So much so that I would plow through super boring texts of other publications with much enthusiasm that would have otherwise gone unread simply because I craved to know more. And it was how this world was presented to me that gave the results it did.

Probably the next big thing since super sliced bread ~~

The US does have the Japanese/Kanji in Mangaland books/workbooks if you're interested in learning Japanese in a similar way:

I believe there are similar books for confusing topics in English. Such as one for statistics and databases I think.
Excellent way to learn, is to combine something you love with something you aren't so inclined toward.

I bought these books in a local Kinokuniya.

I bought this book The Manga Guide to Database

Translated in English. Similar English translated mangas are calculus, statistics, physics electricity etc.
Makes learning look easy and shows tons of applications in normal life.
Book is great. For people starting out in database, I'll dare say this book is a must have.

You said it right Danny! If only textbook were like that my grade would spike like no tomorrow. ohh!! It's quantum physics! One of my favorite subject :D

Going to college soon and I will have no chance to even get near to these kind of textbook there T_T

They have something like these in English. I own the "The Manga Guide to Physics" by Hideo Nitta. Nice books.

I'd say bring back those bilingual manga that used to be in stores in Japan, like Azumanga Daioh and then some of us can learn Japanese from it ^^

They look like more of a distraction to me, because I'm not a huge fan of unnecessary images in textbooks as it is. Kids here would spend more time staring at the chick in the manga I think. I'm not sure how Japanese children handle it, because they're probably used to manga art all over the place. O.o

left-to-right? a rare find. but i guess that's because they're textbooks.

might be useful if you're prepping for a japanese uni. you know the stuff, but do you know it in japanese?

i'm a civil engineering student and i was forced to study this in my 1st year... what a nightmare...

If my university had these I might pass all of my engineering subjects! LOL XD

Geez this brings back memories, I learnt this formula off by heart, but once I got my job, I never used it once! Education, makes your learn what you can do without, GOLD!

So they have a moElectronics manga but no eroGenetics? This saddens me somehow.
