Omotesando

This is Omotesando today. Omotesando is the road that stretches from Harajuku to Aoyama and is filled with a load of brand stores. Quite a few places to eat around there too.
Festivals like the Nebuta one below occasionally take place at Omotesando.

And this is what Omotesando used to look like back in 1953.

Quite a big change!!!! Wow....I think my Hometown in Wisconsin was like that. But not that much of a technology upgrade like what Japan goes through, without a doubt!

that is one of the things that has wowed me so much about tokyo and the such. how quickly the buildings and streets can change. Like that station you were just at recently. Lord knows that building did not look like that when they began broadcasting.

You don't see that sort of the thing from where I am from. My city prides itself on its old buildings. Downtown mainstreet consist of numerous buildings that have been there for more than a hundred years.

Anyways, I am betting it's worth while being an architect in Japan.

Change is inevitable as it is said. Though in this case the change is pretty large.

It's like they really envisioned what the future would be like to leave such a wide road.

When I was in Tokyo last year, the day I picked to spend in Harajuku just happened to fall during the Super Yosakoi dance festival, with a massive parade down the Omotesando. Very cool...
