Photos of tonight's snow in Tokyo. Its freeeezing! Very strange weather we are having of late. Started to get rather warm and then all of a sudden very cold with snow. I hear from folks back in the UK that its freezing over there too.

You call that snow? I should send you some pics from Sweden when we have snow :p During this winter over 110 roofs have collapsed due to snow... I spend about 20-30 minutes every morning with digging out my car from the pile of snow...

Btw Danny, I noticed that the DC site sometimes get rather slow for me. For example this page took about 30sec for me to load even though it is not many pictures. I did a quick speedtesting of the page with Firebugs YSlow, and here is the results if you are interested in areas which can be improved: http://onemanproductions.se/resources/dc_stats.htm

global warming, where the cold becomes colder and the hot becomes hotter, all due to the raising average temperature of the ocean.

You will also see more snow because the warmer oceans will have more moisture laden air blowing inland and hitting the colder air...

Where I am from, we were up into our mid 70's(F). This is common fairly common for this time of the year. Maybe just a bit slightly warmer than the usual. This is the start for spring after all.

However one day it's in the 70's, then it shoots on down the 40's and 50's. I'd say that is a pretty drastic change in weather. It played me for a fool when I went to class the other day.

It's pretty much been the same over here in Alaska. For a while there it was nice and warm and above freezing for a change and bam! the temps dropped a bit and it suddenly started dropping snow on us with a nice mix of wind for the last several days. I have a snow dune crawling up my front door XD

All in all, this has been a weird winter. What, with Texas of all places getting more snow than we have most of the year.

Worst summer ever here in south Brazil. Never seen so much heat before, reminds me even the horrid japanese summer. Adding that to the more frequente hurricanes (pratically nonexistant 5-10 years ago) and floods and I say "wtf is going on?".

How "Cold" is Cold in Tokyo?

We've actually had +10C here in middle Sweden a few days ago. Now it's back to about 0~C. It's pleasant and it feels like it's warm compared to the -35C we had a few weeks ago. Still huge amounts of snow here though. Over one meter in most places... usually more.

First "real" winter we've had in a while... hm. I just hope Tokyo is warm by May So I won't freeze when I visit. :P

Steven Nagata-san mentioned the snow last night during his live streamed pizza party. They were gonna meet the pizza guy outside but mentioned it was snowing like crazy or something. Where I live, here in Cali- it's a bit chilly and windy out, but we never have snow here- at least now where I live. Usually if there's snow here- it's waaaay up towards Oregon in the mountains.

Yes indeed, it's very cold. Here in West Virginia we've been getting more than our fare share of this. It's gotten so bad that school's here and around the neighboring counties are going to be having students make up for missing days because of the snow. A couple months ago, it got so bad that some of the areas in West Virginia didn't have electric for around a month straight because of the damage the winter has caused. I had the flu a couple months ago and just as I got over it, it began again. My transportation to work is a bicycle but because it was so bad here, I had to walk to work for about 2 weeks straight. Very hard on the feet having to walk in snow. Now it seems like it's gonna get better but now we're told we have to put up with rain. Can't wait until summer finally get's here.

Yeah the weather in Singapore has been a little weird too. I blame that on global warming and selfish politicians refusing to change for the sake of our future, and thinking "Oh everything will work out fine eventually" without considering the fact that they have done little or nothing or that problems dont always resolves themselves..

then two days ago, one week after the olympics ended, it became freezing cold again and snowed in some areas of the city!

The temperature down in Australia has had weird weather as well... Huge temperature drops, heavy rain, hail etc..
Then few days later really hot temperatures. Well it's just the beginning of autumn but temps are almost winter-like.

It's been a crazy winter in the Northern Hemisphere this year.

Here in Hong Kong we normally have a sub-tropical climate where it's hot and sticky for the majority of the year, with temperatures around 20+ C, when a cold front comes during the winter seasons, it can fall to around 15-18C.

But just last week we had a quite hot and sticky week of 25C, just when we thought winter is behind us, this cold front comes and sends temperatures plummeting 20C in just 4 days down to 10C. That sort of crazy fluctuation is normally seen in deserts, not cities. Never seen anything like it.

Freezing cold at night here too, though during the day there's lots of sunshine so temperature climbs to just above freezing, but still feels very cold.

Luckily no snow, we had our share of snow the past two months already.
