Gummix

As you may have read in the Japanese Pets and Japanese Beetles posts, many children over here are brought up playing with insects. To help prevent kids who choose to eat them from falling sick, the folks who brought us the Queens Blade series of figures (Mega House) recently brought out a product called Gummix where kids can now make their own edible insects. J-List have recently stocked them too. Check out the CM below.

"Gummi" [グミ] is a gelatin based sweet which originally comes from the German Gummy Bear.
Gummix contains a set which enables one to mix the gelatin with liquids like coke or milk coffee to make yummy looking insects.

15 mins later in the refrigerator and out pops a delicious puni puni looking kabuto beetle. Mmmmmm!
I'd prefer a kit that makes puni puni gummi oppai though.

This Kabuto is made with coke...

How about a grape juice flavored beetle?

How about a plate of black sesame flavored termites?

Why eat em alone...

When you can enjoy them with yer friends.

This is the standard Gummix kit.

There are 3 different Gummix sets including ones that make frogs, tadpoles and a more realistic looking beetle. Check out all the sets at the official site.

The Gummix insects can be enjoyed with every day meals. How about some Rice n Beetle?

Beetle Pizza?

Beetle Bento?

Termite dessert?
If munching on some insects during work seems like your cuppa tea then you can pick them up from J-List. Would probably make a good gift for the boss or teacher too.
I don't recall ever playing with insects as a kid although I do remember squishing the occasional ant. Any of you played with insects (or still do)?
