Tokyo Tour Package

Mentioned just over a year ago in this post that I would like to put together some sort of package tour where I would bring you round to some of my fave spots in Tokyo.
I've recently teamed up with CTC Tours and Yoshimi to put together a tour package called the CTC Tokyo AniTour.

The first tour package we have put together is the 6D4N – CTC Tokyo AniTour: TAF2010 Package - 6 days and 4 nights in Tokyo with the highlight of the tour being the Tokyo Anime Fair 2010.

The tour lasts for 6 days for folks traveling from Singapore but there is a Land Tour package too for folks who wish to make their own way to Tokyo from any part of the world - you would meet the rest of the tour folks at Narita airport.

You will be taken to the Ghibli Museum, Nakano Broadway, Lucky Star Shrine, Pokemon Center, Harajuku, Akihabara, and the Tokyo Anime Fair.

Tokyo Tour Package

I will be looking after you in Akihabara while Yoshimi looks after you for the rest of the tour.

In Akihabara you will enjoy places like the Volks store (Dollfies!), Radio Kaikan, Gamers and a whole lot more. Check out some of what to expect in Akihabara below:-

Frankly the timing of preparation between the "sneak" announcement and the event itself is a little too tight though.

Sounds fun, but the two month time frame makes overseas trip planning difficult. Would you see this as an annual tour or something more often?

I hate pre-arranged tours, hate the "someone else's schedule on rails" and stuff like that.
That's why when we travel, we do our own research and go to places that are interesting to us.
Besides, we'll be in Japan just a few days after this tour would end ;)
(hm... I wish I could move the beginning of our trip a few days to also get to Tokyo Anime Fair)

A great idea I must say, but a poor man like myself can't afford this kind of vacation. Are there lots of folks around here who can just casually drop that amount of money?

If this works out well then perhaps you'll arrange more in the future and give a bit more notice so us poor folks can try to come along too!

      Hi Arayden:

I think that is a different tour package all together.

6 days 4 Nights in this package means, only 4 nights you will stay in the hotel and other will be traveling on plane. :)

My intention is to get to Japan sometime around July 2011 or so. (assuming I'm still gainfully employed then) Won't have the coin for the trip until about then anyway. Hopefully, I'll get to some of the places listed.

Hope they do this a few times a year...

Cool idea, Danny! As much as I hate scripted, guided tours to typical tourist areas (prefer night-time freeroaming), I'd definitely pay to have you as my tour guide if I had the cash.

A lot of us have special places that we will never forget. Mine consist of rooftops, forests, and friends' houses. Guiding others through the places that shaped you just makes the story so much more epic. I think everyone has their own unique story...I wonder, if I ever get rich enough, will I be able to pull random people off the street and pay them to show me the places that were truly special to them, and have them tell their stories?

They'd probably just think I'm crazy or joking, lol

Bah! I'm a month early. Father has a business trip to Tokyo 2/17-2/25 and he's invited me along. So I have 7 days in Tokyo, and next to no idea how I'm going to spend them (well besides one in Akiba of course <<;.)

Aa mou, would be a dream to meet for lunch or coffee and talk about job opportunities in Japan. maybe 2011 <<;. Perhaps I'd have teh $$'s by then.

I would love to go. But I'm in the army right now. I've been to Japan 3 times already and the tour package is not a bad deal considering the high cost of hotels in Japan. Plus you get to be with DC for a day in Akihabara, of all place! And cute tour guide to boot...

Went to check with CTC today and they need at least 10 peeps for the tour pack. Not too sure whether that's a combination of both local and land tour packages.

I hope you don't spend a long time at TAF. I found it boring after an hour.

Also keep forgetting that Danny Choo is a Brit. That accent just seems goofy on an Asian guy.
