Wonder Festival 2010 Preview
Are you ready for the worlds biggest Garage Kit and Figure convention? Ryomo certainly looks ready. And this years dealer pass is a great color too ^^;
The Wonder Festival takes place tomorrow at the Makuhari Messe. Was traditionally held at Tokyo Big Sight for many years until the Wonfes committee fell out with the owners of Big Sight as nobody wanted to take responsibility for the escalator accident that happened a while ago. Video report below shows exactly what happened.
And this is the floor plan for halls 7 and 8 where the enterprise booths are. Good Smile Company will be where all the girls are gathered.
Folks like Kotobukiya, Alter, Megahouse, Orchid Seed, Revoltech, Alter and Volks will be there showing their stuff and selling a few bits n pieces too.
I will be at the GSC booth from about 9:30 taking pics before the crowds get in meaning that you should be able to see goodies in real time as I upload em using the new Upload by Email functionality ^o^
We have also enabled this feature for Good Smile and they will be posting stuff into the GSCPIC category.

There is one figure that I've always wanted from the Wonfes and its this Erika Sendo by Alphamax - absolutely gorgeous. Shes a kit but I cant paint ToT.
The Wonfes starts from 10am and lasts to only 5pm. Get off at Kaihin Makuhari station. Map below. See you tomorrow!

That's too bad they had to move out of Tokyo Big Sight. I figured it's always been a signature place for any kinds of events like these. Still annoying about this stupid escalator incident. Anyway... Is the Makuhari Messe as big as TBS?

Always love WF. Tho I'm far more interested in the GK sellers than the big corporate stuff.
I intend to go to one personally one day, but I'd have to double my holiday budget just to cope!!
Doubt there will be any purchases for me this time as I'm still hurting from my last big spend (that, and I've already ordered a few things) so I hope there aren't too many fantastic GK and that I'll be able to pick them up at the next event!
From what I've seen, there should be tonnes of Touohou and Bakemonogatari kits this time round!

Keep an eye out for the Triela GSC model. I want to know if its still in the works.
Hope I don't offend anyone by saying this, but I find it incredulous no one is willing to take responsibility for the escalator accident, and that it has sadly ended up with the organizers falling out with the management of Big Sight.
IMHO, both parties should be partially responsible for failing to control the over-enthusiastic crowd from all rushing onto the escalator at once, causing it to exceed its capacity. It's like allowing many people to stuff up an elevator until it exceeds its critical weight and falls down the shaft.
