I've seen many gaming rooms/collections but this set of photos uploaded by donkey*kong from the Netherlands just blows everything away. Its like a museum!

Now this is interesting - all these games were produced by Nintendo?!

As for my history of game machines...

Sega Mega Drive
Super Nintendo
Game Boy
Mega CD (ugh!)
PC Engine Duo
NIntendo Entertainment System
Game Boy Advance
Playstation
Playstation 2
Playstation 3
Nintendo DS
Nintendo DSi
Wii

And before all that I done gaming on the Commodore 64.
Whats your list of gaming machine history?

Was interesting reading the history of Nintendo and learned that between 1963 and 1968, Nintendo set up a taxi company, food company and even love hotels.

Nintendo started business back in 1887 where they originally made card games. It was the card games that grew Nintendo to a 900 yen per stock company.
By 1964 however, the card game market was saturated and people pretty much stopped buying card games. Nintendo's stock fell from that 900 to 60 yen.

Nintendo was deep in debt and was struggling to keep the business afloat in the Toy market which Bandai and Tomy dominated.
In 1970, Nintendo brought out a robotic toy hand called the Ultra Hand which I have annotated in image 86029. It was to sell over a million units.

By 1975, Nintendo saw how popular the video game market was and began to experiment with various products. The rest is history which you can read at Wikipedia.

All these photos were submitted to Figure.fm where we would still like to see more photos of your rooms in the Room category.
It could have been my imagination but I heard Kotobukiya say that there maybe a few pages in Otacool 2 for a few room photos...

And my room needs more game machines in it ^^;

By the time when Nintendo was going to release their CD based console, they ended up messing things and causing the loss of a big chunk of the console market. Sony took advantage of their former deal and began producing the PLAYSTATION. Nintendo crashed again that time.

The photos are O.O incredible, it's really a museum. I wonder how many G's were spent on that collection.

    My gaming history:
NES, Sega Genesis, Game Boy, i486, Super Nintendo, Pentium, Pentium II, Pentium III, AMD Duron, Game Boy Advance, Dreamcast, AMD Athlon, Game Cube, AMD Athlon 64 3200, Xbox 360

The ones that I still keep are i486, Dreamcast, Game Cube, Athlon 3200 and Xbox 360. I realize now that I've been a happy kid all my life ^o^

    Didn't have much money to spare when I was young, so I could only read Nintendo Power at the library and dream. ^^;;
The consoles/portables I've managed to get were all generous donations from friends - Gameboy Colour, PSP, and Xbox 360.

No longer in such a financial situation now, but I've been prohibited from gaming until I graduate. :P All in all, I have a bit of a chip on my shoulder from the whole "experience".

my gaming history (in OS's and video cards, with random consoles thrown in):
    MS-DOS
    SNES
Windows 95 on 3DFX Voodoo 1/2 and NVIDIA TNT
Windows 98 on NVIDIA TNT2, NVIDIA GeForce 1 and 2
    Nintendo 64
Windows XP on NVIDIA GeForce3 Ti500, ATI Radeon 9800/X1900
Windows Vista on NVIDIA 8800 GTX, NVIDIA GTX 280

This guy's collection is worth more and more extensive than the History of Nintendo section in the Nintendo World store up here in New York. Impressive stuff.

Awesome collection! My very first game system was the Sega Genesis. To this day, I'm proud to have it as my first console--Sega games have the special, sentimental feeling to them: Jet Set Radio, Shenmue, Feel The Magic, just about every Sonic game ever made (especially Sonic CD!), and Valkyria Chronicles. I feel bad that I didn't get the chance to play other classics like Phantasy Star and Shining Force, until they were re-released on the DC..

I've also have the first Playstation, Playstation 2, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Gameboy Color, and Gameboy Advance. Though I didn't get into the Nintendo stuff until the N64...

Yes. That is a Nintendo 64DD. It was officially released in Japan in December 1999, but only available for a short period of time through a subscription (for an online service). Nine game were released in total, including a F-Zero X track construction kit.

My friend gave me his Nintendo 64 around the time I acquired my xbox but I generally don't play it. I only have a Gameboy color that I acquired from another friend around the time I got the 64. I also played a lot of PC games but I don't anymore. 360 and Gamecube are my favorites ^^
That room is not a room....it's a museum for sure. I remember seeing some of that stuff on sale at the stores when I was little but never being able to afford any of it ^^

I love seeing rooms like this. I think when I actually get a house, I'll finally have the room to do something similar.

I have pictures of my game collections (still in progress, some need updating) on my Flickr.

Hm. Maybe I should post my old game rooms on figure.fm too. In my last apartment, I had a console gaming room as well as a room for my arcade machines. I have around 50 game consoles, 1400+ games, and 15 arcade machines. Now that I'm getting married and am living with my fiancee, much of my collection is in climate-controlled storage and the arcade collection has to get distilled, but I do have a game room just waiting to get filled up in the house I just bought. ^_^

Here's donkey*kong, the lucky owner of this room.

Thanks to all for your great comments. I love it my post sparked a discussion about gaming history.

To answer some of the common questions:

    >>> are all the consoles in the room still working?

Yes, all you see is still working. In fact, all consoles you see around the flatscreen in the top image are all connected to this TV. They are all ready to be fired up in seconds.

    >>> Is there no PS3???

Yes, there is a PS3. It's on the rights side of the flatscreen.

    >>> Why isn't anyone playing

Good question! I wanted to show the room, without some folks getting in the way of the goodies, but we do use the room to play in. I will post some pictures with gamers in action!

    >>> I don't see many games in the photos, are they hidden in the cupboards?

Yes, most are stored in the cupboards and drawers.

    >>> I have a feeling that he/she only collect games and never play with them...

Quite the contrary: all game are played. I am a game player first, collector second.

I will answer some more questions to the notes on the images in separate comments.

    As for my gaming history

    PS
    PS2
    Gamecube

And there we are. Here today. From a die hard Nintendo Fanboy to almost leaving Nintendo to rust. All in a single life time. Weird how things work out :)

A great room. I wonder how much all of that must have costed.

Interesting when you mentioned history of gaming machines I own. Interesting because its surprisingly empty... there is the nintendo super famicom though I never touched it much... Then it was PC all the way until we somehow got an xbox but I only touched it occasionally. In between would be a PS2 but it was never used. I kept up with PC until I managed to get my hands on a DS Lite. We got a Wii that I used a handful of times then stopped. So the only two gaming machines that I still use would be the PC and DS... and those would be the only two noteworthy gaming systems of my list ><

Mine in order of getting them and current status:
Sony PS1 (Flooded in natural disaster, now dismantled)
Nintendo GameBoy Color (Flooded in natural disaster, works, LCD Screen warped but still displays)
Nintendo GameBoy Advance SP (Works 100%, no longer used)
Sony PS2 Fat (DVD laser broken, unable to play any DVD games T_T)
Nintendo DS Lite (Still in use)
    Nintendo Wii (Still in use)
NES (Borrowed from a friend, in use)
SNESx2 (Both borrowed from friend, one not functioning, one in use)
    Sony PSP (In use)

I'm actually interested in retro gaming and every capable electronic device I have has at least one emulator in it. Even my iPod Video 5.5G. I also have more ROM files than actual games >_>.

It all began with the Super NES, the NES, and the Sega Genesis i played with my defunct nephew during those tropical summer nights of 1994 under the full moon(I was four years of age at that time), followed by the first generation Game Boy that same year and my computer(Keep that in mind i had a Compaq Presarion running Windows 3.1 with maxell TabWorks frontend) Where cable television and such anime like Dirty Pair and Please save my earth were around. For 1997, i got in verge with the Sony PSX i owned as a birthday gift, then the N64 from late in September 1996. Just 3 months before my nephews death on 18th December that same year.

From 1998 i got my gaming life shaped out with the Game Boy Color and became Pokemon addict. As the Y2K rolled in, PS2, Xbox, Gamecube, and GBA shaped out my gaming trasendence, from 2005 to 2008, i got myself with the PSP and a fan of the Ridge Racer triology.

Today, with the iPhone in hand and some emulators in my PC, classic gaming made me up shaping the 90's(My childhood decade i won't live without it)
