Dancing Dollfie

Up until now, dolls generally move when humans are not around - but not anymore.
Dancing Doll-san brought his daughter along to today's Dollpa - she was playing the guitar and walking up n down the table.
Check out the Dancing Doll site and click on movie in the top nav to see more videos of her strutting her stuff.

Her name is Alice (亜里栖 (アリス)) and is an eternal 15 years old. Alice is made up from 25 servo motors and a Viston processing unit. Battery is a 6.0v+4.8v. She also comes with 2 gyro and 3 accelerator sensors.

I smiled when I read that her name was Alice. That's just who I was thinking of when I read about a moving Dollfie. Alice from Touhou the doll collecting puppeteer. (:

Can't view the video at my work but I will check it out when I get home. Sounds so cool. ^_^

I clicked on the "dairy" on Dancing Doll-san's page and it shows what she looks like without clothes. Particularly, her arms and waist. Not sure if that's with her skin off or not but she looks very mechanical.
He is very talented to make something like this.

Also, saw some Rozen Maiden cosplay on his Alice doll. Cute! ^_^

OK, so she's NOT a Dollfie Dream with a motorized endoskeleton! She looks more like he raided some ball joint doll or another for the head and hands.

I actually did sync up "Don't say lazy" to your video in iMovie but it's not a real good match for the movement. I don't think I'll post the result on YouTube -- it sorta sucks.

I saw someone with a mechanized DD in a video somewhere but I wasn't able to find it another time.

No wonder they let her in! Of course, it's a Dollpa, she'd have to be a Volks of some sort.

Oh yeah, if anyone has the song handy, Boom Boom Pow by the Black Eyed Peas might actually work in the background of this video. However, I don't have the song lying around, so some other videogeek should try this.

Give 5 years and some dedicated R&D, and there could be servos and joints that will fit into a DD body form. I'd so like to see a Dollfie that could move and respond, even if it was all canned programing like an I-sobot.

speaking of moving dolls, saw some doll drawn rickshaws the other day. though the dolls looked more like cloth rag dolls, I thought they would better if they were dollfie inspired instead.

Done some more poking...this is a modified Femisapien by WowWee. This has become a favorite of the Robohacking community. And yeah, the guts of her head look like they could fit directly into, say, an Obitsu 60cm head.

My Obitsu boy got hand transplants because the previous owner of his bod let him get stained from black clothes. Naughty doll-parent. Naughty naughty. So I already have hands for a Femisapien hack. Obitsu Haruka or Obitsu Gretel head is very reasonable. I might go the Haruka route because my boy has a Gretel head with a masculine faceup. I want a little differentiation here.

A common mod is to give the Femisapien eyes. I'm thinking mod a pair of red acrylics with a hole drilled in the center of each pupil to allow for red LED to be installed. The Femisapien body looks an awful lot like a Plugsuit so I might actually leave that part of her as is.
