Japan Computer Usage

I often see people walking around holding open laptops at my university. Also on the rails and buses.

LOL Crazy!!!

Sometimes I bring my macbook into the bathroom with me. Hey! I gotta have something to do while "dropping the kids of at the beach!" :D

I rather hope it's yarase. After all, that can't be too safe, nor is it very considerate of the folks around you.

If it's -not- yarase, then... Maybe it's simply the next logical step following the glut of people walking around while texting on their phones? (Don't do it! What if you walk into traffic, huh?)

sorry for the unrelated post but i finally see myself under list of danny's facebook friends on this page. i always see my friends but never myself. lol.

If it's like this now then maybe we'll see people using laptops while they drive. -_-;;

The world is truly advancing into the technological age, although people are beginning to use they're laptops in more places these days.

i see people driving with tha laptop or DVD player on their dash watching movies! tha laptop jockys reminds me of tha "boom box" craziness when peoples would carry monster CD/tape machines on the shoulder while walking around! Look at me, look at me, i'm cool! XP

i can imagine people walking into roads on accident and getting hit by cars

Definately set up, why wouldn't they otherwise not censor the computer users face also? They censored the other people.

Never seen anyone walking around with their laptops. Your just asking for trouble. It's portable, but not that portable, crazy people.

O_O;;; Looks like they'll be broken laptops in no time. There are occasionally people on my campus who walk with their laptops in precarious positions and it makes me cringe knowing how easily they could trip or bump into someone and send their computer flying. It seems really irresponsible. =^_^=

never happened to me had to do a thing, bordering on the train, sitting comfortably ... :)

I've seen this around campus, and some public transportation. Not anywhere else though.

Street computing...you won't see those around here with the internet speed we have here....

They're quite hardcore. Lol.

I'm guilty of doing this on a couple of occasions... At school, I was range testing a pair of transceivers. Got some weird looks from non-engineering students. While traveling, if I am in need of Internet, I would do a little war walking. For work, I've done this in the hallway outside meeting rooms. I usually hold my lappie with one hand and type with the other though. This two handed typing thing is beyond my ability.

Trooper with a mac sounds fun, but you know what would be better? Set it up with two other people--you in trooper gear, they in normal street clothes with laptops. As you walk by, what they do on the computer seems to control you. . . and then they do a battle of remote control action!

Okay, yeah, it's a bit over the top. I'll go away now.

In our country, there are more people listening to music on their way to the workplace than using laptops like that @_@;

ahh i think i am guilty of doing this. especially when i am downloading some files when i need to rush to get to somewhere else. With mobile broadband plans being quite cheap for students, i think there will be a rise of this in singapore soon.. i have seen some crazy students standing and playing MMORPG on the trains before...

They really need to build a waist strap to hold the laptops for themselves...

I've never seen anyone do that, not even in Akiba. I also don't know many self-respecting heavy users who'd risk dropping/smashing their rig like that.

That is some way to use a laptop, I wouldn't do that while trying to move around. If I had to I hold it on one hand like a server's dish and use the other hand to operate the notebook.

looks impractical to be real, IMHO. if it were me, i'd use a netbook rather than a full laptop.

Yeah thats totally Yatase the people are always in pairs and those two guys even had the exact same shirt!

they should sell a strap or a belt to position your laptop when walking....Though I think it would be a very dangerous product.

How did they manage to suspend the laptop like that on their legs? It seems like it'd be extremely troublesome to use a Laptop like that. I'd never do it.

Other than at school (everybody gets a laptop), i haven't seen anybody walking around using a laptop like that! (^_^)

Using laptop is very common thing however blogging or plain surfer the web while walking and driving a bike is bit too much and plain dangerous . i rather use blackberry or Iphone
