Due out in January is this 1/8 scale figure of Akiyama Mio. Is being released by Movic but produced by Kotobukiya. See more pics at GA Graphic.
Kinda prefer this one to the Alter version. Which do you prefer?

    I prefer the Kotobukiya Version.
She looks a little more Mio-like in my opinion and the original outfit is just cute and sexy.
But would love to see a Mio figure with her "Don't say lazy" outfit

I perfer the Kotobukiya version over the Alter version but i more rather a Kotobukiya version of Yui and a figure of Azu-nyan. Seriously when are anyone gonna make a figure of Azu-nyan, i already have preordered every Yui figure currently coming out soon

I'm torn between the two. I like Alter's sculpt quality and proportions better, but I prefer Kotobukiya's outfit design. In the end though, I'm not budging until I see a Don't Say Lazy outfit =P.

I chose the Kotobukiya version for the poll,
although I will most likely be getting both versions anyway. :P

As for my analysis of the two figures. The Kotobukiya one's face does look slightly
different from the way it looks in the anime. But regardless of that, still cute.
The reason I like this version more is because of the style ofher clothes,
and the fact that she's using her fingers to play the bass instead of a pick,
as seen on the Alter version. XD

Both are excellently crafted/painted. I've always loved how Alter and Kotobukiya make
their figures. Tough decision to make unless you decide on getting both. XD

I'm going to have to go against the tide of opinion here and say Kotobukiya's version is much better than Alter's. I like the way Kotobukiya/Movic produced the face and especially the eyes. They look more like Mio's proper facial features and expression to me than Alter's version. There was something that instantly made me dislike Alter's one, but I couldn't figure out what it was until now. It's definitely the face shape, her eyes, and the mouth (something really fake about it) and the sum total just really didn't look like Mio to me. I'm not sure about the accuracy of the guitar, but I LOVE the refreshing outfit. I know it's not the traditionally recognized one, but I'm sick to death of drab schoolgirl outfits and have never bought any figures with boring poses or boring outfits. The splash of red in the tie is perfect and the layered skirt is very cute! =^_^=

I preordered the Alter one a few months ago (along with the Alter's Yui fig), so I'm kinda biased in that. Though I like Alter's better because she looks alot more cheerful on it, and her wearing her school outfit feels alot more like it represents the anime. But yeah, that's just my opinion.

Something is really wrong with this figure's facial expression. I'd prefer Alter's version.

I like both Alter and Kotobukiya Versions of Mio. If I had to pick one I get the Kotobukiya Version because of the outfit.

This is a sexy fig, but nothing comes close to my Nayuki Minase! I'd have to say I prefer this one though to the Alter version.

I like the Kotobukiya one for using a unquie costume but, you can't go past the classic Alter School uniform, it suits mio to well. Also, the Kotobukiya one has a kinda wierd face.

hard to choose. I'll have to wait till release and see the final product myself and at the same time hope that there will be stocks left for whichever I'm gonna get.

But based on the models alone I would prefer the Kotobukiya version.
