Shinjuku
Stumbled onto this video showing how Shinjuku changed over 35 years and remember seeing it on TV. The photos were taken by 4 people from the same spot over the 35 year period.
And you can see some more of modern day Shinjuku in the time lapse vid below.
As for the photo - took them a few years ago and you can see it along with more Shinjuku photos in the Shinjuku and Shinjuku photos articles.
If you are interested in reading about life in Japan, seeing photos taken daily around Tokyo, like Japanese subculture (anime, manga, figures, Dollfies) then you may want to start delving into the Japan or Figure categories for a start or have a gander at all photo articles.

That's amazing, so much expansion towards the sky! I grew up in a small farming town in Surrey, when I came to the USA I was overwhelmed by the tall buildings and largeness of everything.

I was amazed as well until i remembered that Japan is on track for a population loss of 2/3rds by 2050. That's only 40 years away, nearly the same amount of time as in that first video! I can only wonder what Japan will look like then.

The Tokyo Time Lapse is the best. Amazing work.
The time lapse video is amazingly gorgeous; I always get mesmerized when I watch these sorts of videos.
As for the 35 Years Shinjuku vid, I find it quite impressive those four men kept going at it for 34 years and took pictures. I'm curious to see how they look like now and before they started this project. The change of Shinjuku is quite amazing.

It's hard to believe it looked so different 34 years ago. I noticed the buildings in the foreground in the first video remained unchanged.
The second video was amazing. Like a masterpiece.
