Quick photo review of the Alter Yoko Littner figure that came out a little while back.
First saw the prototype of this figure over a year ago at Chara Hobby - looked great in primer alone and looks even better painted.

Alter do great quality figures but some of them look odd and generally have darker colors. Yoko however is astoundingly good.

Nicely scuplted oppai.

Sculpting around the torso looks great too.

Img ID#81535 | Flickr | New tab | Mouseover = load notes.

Revolver is removable and the barrel turns too. Fits snugly with a little effort up ones nose.

Cute yokogao. Yoko Gao [横顔] means "side of face."

Garments can be removed - if you want to break the figure permanently.

Tush is a bit flat.

Img ID#81539 | Flickr | New tab | Mouseover = load notes.

Coat in the wind really does look great. I think there is a version of her in a black coat too.

Img ID#81540 | Flickr | New tab | Mouseover = load notes.
 title=

Lovely stand too. The weight of the coat prevents Yoko from standing without the base.

Img ID#81541 | Flickr | New tab | Mouseover = load notes.

Good news for folks who don't like hair joins - non on Yoko.

Yoko retailed for 8,190 yen back in August.

Sculpt and quality is truly stunning.

I'm torn between Good Smile and Alter but the sheer quality of this Yoko figure makes me lean to Alter's side.
One of the best figures of Yoko I think.

    That Yoko really is exceptionally well-made. The holster and belt have so much detail, and the coat too. They really didn't take the easy way out... Unlike those other two figures you've got pictured. ^^;

Indeed. But you still must give the others some measure of credit, as they are at least descent. The Gift one is my least favorite of the bunch. There was a post a while back about how accurate the limb length was.

Oh, I know none of them are "easy" and I don't mean to degrade the other two. It's just a matter of comparison. Figures are art, and I'm just more compelled to be captured by it when it's a complete scene; a visually stimulating moment with action, detail and movement.

I own all those Yoko figures and I love them all! But Alter takes the cake. Their figures always have a lot of beautiful details. You know your getting your money's worth when it comes to Alter. I feel like I'm getting the complete package. And it helps that their figures are reasonably priced. But GSC/Max Factory definitely comes in 2nd, Megahouse in 3rd, and Kotobukiya in 4th.

I have always liked Kotobukiya figurines. That Alter Yoko has a really stunning set of features. Any more however, whatever I can get a few of at a time that are real not fakes I am happy with. Just feels better to pull like 3 figurines out of one shipping container. I still have Yoko on my list to get.

I'm hands down an Alter fan. I don't like GSC because they focus too much on nendoroids. However the figures that they actually do make are pretty good. I wish they had a few more regular figures. As for Max Factory, they have too many figmas, and I think they should also balance out their items with a few more regular figures.

Absolutely adore Alter's Yoko. Only got mine a few weeks ago (pre-order was filled really late) but she was well worth the wait, what an amazing figure by Alter, really gorgeous.

The only drawback I saw, which is but a minute detail, was the same observation you made Danny, her tushie looks a bit too flat. With her else perfectly sculpted body and audacious shapely curves, a more ample tushie would have been heavenly.

Also love Alter's Yomako, for me Alter has made the best Yoko figures.

For the sheer beauty and detail, I love Alter figures. But I have many more Good Smile figures since I love nendoroids :) Good Smile's bigger, scaled, non-SD figures are also great quality, so I'm always torn when I'm asked which is my fav. But it's one of those two by far.

As for those Yoko's, the Alter is probably the best in terms of overall detail and sheer awesomeness, but the only one of those I have is the Gift one...which is great, well made, and really, really cute :3 I didn't have enough spare money to get the Alter when she went up for preorder and then restock. I'm probably sided with Good Smile Company since I quite like their stuff.

FREEing, Alter and such ain't bad.

I'd choose the 'gift'. Too freakin' cute.

BTW speaking of primers, do Alter or GSC use a proprietary sort, or can it be storebought?
(or is there a figure-building thread in this place I could post my inquiry?)

Show's awesome! Better than most, but not my favorite Gainax series. (what could be better than Evangelion?)

Better? RahXephon. It's like Eva for the massess, but has an ending the average human being actually understands. As for Gurren Lagann, its a great show that develops in scope in a mindlbowingly rapid maner and ends in a truely epic way.

The quality of this figure is amazing, but... Quite frankly, I've never seen more fake looking breasts. By that I mean that they look like they have overdone implants. Creepy.

Ya Alter really surprised me with this one. I really like both Gift's and Alter's Yoko (Not so much Kotobukiya's) but theyre not at the top of my list right now. If I had the money I'd have them by now.

Now that is well made. Such quality. *cry. Another figure I will lose. If I only had a job. Yoko just has one of the hottest bodies in anime.
