My dog (Siberian Husky) hates wearing any sort of clothing! She rips whatever you try to put on her to pieces and spreads the mess around to make me sorry for dressing her up. She's cute when she's mad :)

Dog died couple of years ago... T_T
But the only clothing I got for him was sort of a blankie for the cold.
He'd keep shaking from the cold on winter time, so we got him some stuff to keep him warmer.

I don't think it's a bad thing, but some people just gets too much into it.
Like stuffing lots of perfume and tons of accessories to the point of hurting the dog.

But you know, let's not be hypocrates... most people buys pets as a "thing", and the hard truth is that usually pets are obliged to learn to live with us, and not otherwise.

Most people, even not realizing or admitting it, ends up treating their pets as accessories, toys, or as something you bought to be useful in certain situations, practical or emotional ones.

While I don't like people who considers only their own feeling when it comes to their pets, I also don't like false moralists preaching too much about animal rights.

Have to admit the dog looks cool but it must haaate it. There are a lot of pet owners around where I live and also in the city. The most I've seen on a dog is either a handkerchief or some sort of top (like a tshirt or jacket) for the purpose of keeping warm. In the winter sometimes I spot dogs with booties on to protect their paws, so cute! My dog hates them, lol, but loves his blanket.

You don't put your pets into clothes, they have something called fur!
The only thing our dog gets to wear is something to protect her from the cold since she is too old now to run around and play like she used to which means that she gets cold quickly. And since Boxers have very short fur she wears something like this, when it gets really cold outside:
    http://tinyurl.com/yfdj7xd
Oh and she has to wear dogshoes outside during winter because of the road salt. Dog paws are really sensitive.
    http://tinyurl.com/yhcxzso

Little teensy note here but "The dog's bollocks" actually means "The best ever!" (For example: This club is the dog's bollocks! we're coming back tommorrow night!" .. I'm guessing thats not what most think it does, given the majority of the posts are against yet the majority of poll replies are for that option?

I think putting clothing on dogs is a bit of an odd practise myself, though I could perhaps see some sort of thermal blanket type if the cold got well below there natural climate.
