Had I known that you would receive such extras for getting a Japanese version of Win7 I would probably have gotten a copy. But since I had already preordered the OS and I don´t have funds for buying two copies I had to stick with my choice.

      I second that question!
As the Japanese Ultimate DVDs are already out there since a few hours they should be already around on the interwebs. Anyone here with a Japanese Ultimate DVD willing to share them?

Using Windows 7 since it was released in August (MSDN/Technet), loving it!

i think it's more than just having the Japanese version of Ultimate..

you must be the first 777 or 7777 pre-orders of Windows 7 Ultimate DSP edition (whatever that means i have no idea) to get likt all the bonus Nanami stuff.. lol

          Oh rly? Didn't know that.
DSP means “Delivery Service Partner”, it's basically the OEM version.
This is the version you should buy! Much cheaper!

          Ultimate 64bit DSP/OEM = 144€
          Ultimate 64bit Retail = 290€
The only thing you won't get with this version is the shiny packaging (and nobody needs this anyway).

I'd like to stress out how much big companies charge for the "free upgrade" plan to Windows 7.
I have to pay 30 euros (35 dollars?), to have Toshiba shipping it to my house.

Hp is doing the same and other big companies too.
Shipping in my country for that kind of parcel wouldn't be more than 5 euros (7$).

Ok, if are buying it it's retail, but I'd really like to know what is the excuse thay have for charging that much for the free upgrade program...

I used Windows from 2.0 up to Vista and tried 7 RC, I like 7.

Windows 7 has DirectX 11 support, so in the future, all the new games will be requiring DX11 to run their best. If you are talking about old games, DOSBox runs fine in Windows 7 and can run these older games really well.

As an experiment we installed Windows 3.11 on a fairly Business Standard Quad Core 3Ghz PC, 1 gig ram and it

    R O C K E D!!!

The BIOS POST test took longer than the OS load. it was so fast!

And Mosaic Web Browsers rendered most useful sites not to badly!

Thinking seriously about going back to Windows 3.11!

    DO MORE WITH LESS!

I cant say we actually achieve any more productivity with current day OS's as we did "back in the day"

(Madobe - Window-side, Nana - puns with 7, made even more obvious by having her voiced by Mizuki Nana. )

Using XP at the moment, but really want 7~!

    Only thing is, in Australia it's about twice as expensive as it would be in the US! >.<;;

I would most likely get Windows 7 when I get a new computer... so right now I have to trudge through life with the very saddening Vista

Hmm... still don't need to upgrade yet. If I get a new computer maybe... Perhaps a 7 upgrade for my Vista laptop. *shrug*

My current machine's suppose to run Vista, but I "upgraded" it back to XP. That's how much I loathe Vista. Windows 7, however, makes me want to upgrade. Still thinking about getting a new laptop though... >w<'

There's a Windows 7-tan?!?! She's so cute!!! No one celebrated here, but I'm excited for the release, I hope Microsoft can make up for the mess that was Vista.
