For you Hayate no Gotoku fans out there - goodies from Cospa in the form of these 1/6 scale Resinya doll heads of Nagi and Katsura.
Some Hayate action below.

 title=

Nagi Sanzenin is due out next Feb and will retail for 5,800 yen. Her outfit will cost 4,600 yen and you can get it together with the head together for 9,400 yen. You still have to buy the body separately though and you'd be looking for a 1/6 scale Obitsu body.
More pics at Akibahobby.

 title=

Katsura Hinagiku - costs the same as Nagi. Akibahobby also has some pics.

 title=

And this is what the product looks like - you get the head only.
When I first saw these I thought they were odd as they came with no arms or legs. A few DC readers got together and drew on arms n legs for one of these Resinya heads which lead to the birth of Gordonator's mascot character.

The concept behind this product was for folks who like figures to be able to start getting into dolls - in particular folks who are not keen on doll hair.
There seems to be 3 types of figure consumers - which are you?

Which type of figure consumer are you?

This doll head is already out - I know shes from DaCapo but cant remember who she is.

 title=

And a bunch of other Resinya heads that Cospa forgot to take home. Looks like I'll just have to keep em then ^^;
I gave Cospa some advice on how they should package these products and recommended that they at least included a body with them.

Are these Resinya heads appealing as a product?

      1/6, about 27cm...

BTW the pricing is OK... The Obitsu body usually costs 2000yen... So with the head + clothing + half body statue you'll eneded up almost 12000yen anyways, the pricing is better than most Azone 1/6types...

Those heads aren't as good as their Da Capo ones. I wouldn't bother with these heads--the Da Capo and To Heart ones are better in terms of quality and cost.

Danny, I fully agree--Cospa should have sold these heads as part of a figure, rather than as-is. Considering that a doll body isn't too hard to find, A Resinya head + Doll body + basic character clothes will actually be on-par or even cheaper than most 1/6 or 27cm figures/dolls--this from a 1/6 collector (myself). I have a Kotori Shirakawa head at home, she looks great. The only trouble being her hair is solid, so posing is a bit limited, but not impossible. If you buy short-haired heads like Yume (Pictured above in Yukata), Nemu, or heads with ponytails like Nanaka, there should be no problems.

For the most part, I would not recommend buying these heads as they are; better to buy the heads if you have a doll body (preferrably Azone 27cm or 25cm) to put them on. Overall, she cost me less than the Hybrid Action Azone figure of Otome Asakura, and she looks far better to boot--I don't like Azone's 1/6 take on girl chara I like (Feena, for one, looks cute, but totally off).

Oh, on those heads and clothes--Maybe you can raffle them off on Figure.fm? I for one want a couple of those heads and their clothes, but lack the cash to go off and buy them...

Well, Azone and other companies sell doll bodies by themselves for doll customizers, so it's not all that surprising. The head itself is sort of like an accessory to the doll. Only the head is easily the most expensive part of any 1/6 figure, be it dolls or Military collector figures. A well-sculpted head is very precious.

Ah! So that's what those Cospa busts were. I thought they were just busts. Had no idea that their heads came off and you could attach them to Obitsu bodies.

As much as I like Nagi and Hinagiku, I could not see me going through all that trouble to buy their head, clothes, and body seperately. Bad choice to try and sell all the parts separately like that in my opinion.

Plus, the likenesses to the characters could be a bit better. They're not bad though. Still waiting for Volks to make Nagi/Hinagiku/Maria Dollfie Dreams. ^_^

Actually, the one advantage of figures in 27cm (1/6) scale is that you can make a G.I.Joe figure version of yourself and have him partner up with your favorite character. ^_^

But yeah, would be better if Cospa sold them as a complete doll set. In fact, I think some shops in Japan (Mamegyora, I think) sell these heads, uniform AND throw in a 27cm or 25cm body and sell them as a set. Putting the head on isn't all that tough, as the head will fit straight onto the standard obitsu neck post.

...and with regards to the topic, I don't mind either Nylon or PVC hair, however, I do prefer PVC hair more. This is usually because PVC hair requires less fuss and will usually make the doll more Anime accurate.

I also love 1/6 dolls. I have 3 now and do plan to get more in the future.

Don't know these characters, and their design doesn't make me doki-doki suru, you know? Even if their molded plastic hair didn't bother me, their clothes aren't tailored at all. They may as well be wearing bags.

I think plastic hair should be saved for figures and nylon put on dolls, since the two are made for different purposes. Figures are meant to represent a specific pose, sort of like a 3D snapshot, and as such their hair should be fixed into position. Dolls, on the other hand, are meant to be customized, and that includes having more realistic hair that can be styled, windblown, and/or trimmed depending on the owner's display choices and tastes. And out of all the doll hair fibers I've had experience with, nylon gets the most love from me. <3

I have to say I already own 4 of these. I bought Nanaka Shirakawa and Otome Asakura and I loved the quality so much (very nice details and airbrush shadowing) that I bought Nemu and Kotori as well afterwards.

I guess to me it was not odd to buy them as they are sold as I already owned some doll bodies and some of the cospa costumes. It was more convenient for me to buy the bodies seperatly so I can choose exactly which type of obitsu body I like (there are soft types, hard types, magnet types, different skin colors to choose from etc....).

I would recommend this product to someone that both love figure and doll and want "the best of both world" ^_^
