A lookie at a few of the most popular 2D girlie mags - Megami Creators, Dengeki Hime and Megami.

 title=

First up its a look at Dengeki Hime which mainly covers girls from eroge - needless to say that its full O ecchi.
Dengeki Hime comes with a few posters like this one illustrated by Mitsumomo Mamu - from the eroge Mercuria due out in Jan. Really nice OP for the game below - gorgeous backdrops.

 title=

Tropical Kiss has some really gorgeous girlies - PV below.

 title=

Somebody's imouto from Imouto Smile.

 title=

Mercuria which you saw above.

 title=

Mashiro Iro Symphony. Berry cute girls. PV Below.

 title=

Dakkoshite Gyu - I think its about dakimakura's coming to life or something? The subtitle for the game is "My bride is a dakimakura."

 title=

Next up is Megami which mainly covers the 2D girlies anime - also comes with a load of posters.

 title=

Looking forward to the second series of Sekirei. Wish they done some decent Sekirei figures.

 title=

Megami magazine also covers a few figures too.

 title=

And finally a look at Megami Creators which covers the work of various illustrators. Also includes posters too.

 title=

"Mecha x Loli."

 title=

Artwork by Kishida Meru.

 title=

Artwork by Ito Ben.

 title=

Any of you playing Dream Club? How does it compare with Idol Master?

Folks who are interested in giving these mags a while can nab some from Jlist = Megami Creators, Dengeki Hime and Megami.

As an eroge blogger, it's natural that I'd want Dengeki Hime more ^^;; Great art and in-depth game information. Their website has monthly wallpapers too. TECH GIAN is also another good magazine.

In Imouto Smile, the guy actually has 6 imouto (2 of whom were designed with input from readers). I really love Mercuria's artwork. It feels a bit like Aria. As Hearts' first game, I'm anxious to try it out. Palette has some of the prettiest art and it shows in Mashifoni. And yes, the plot to Dakko Shite Gyu is that they designed a dakimakura that seems to come to life when you sleep with it. Like an otaku dream come true? lol.

I still have a few issues of Megami around from when I bought them. A lot of eye candy, but I prefer Dengeki Hime more.

There's a lot of text in all of them, although for most pages screen shots and character profiles are interspersed in the preview/review articles. The bulk of the new picture content for Hime and Megami are the posters, which are then sometimes re-used in the articles inside.

so far I haven't bought much in the way of magazines. The prices are a bit high for just the content alone, however if there's good enough extras that warrants a buy worthy magazine to me. I do like art books though.

I have read megami a few times, but not much. I picked up Dengeki Hime once before too but out of the Dengeki magazines it's the one I read the most. It used to be a BL magazine for bishounen games, so I never read it until lately. I only buy Dengeki Gs slightly regularly out of the dengeki magazines.

Dream Club is pretty fun. I still haven't played much compared to IdolM@ster, but I'm enjoying it quite more.

The best point so far is trying to get the girls drunk so they start talking more freely, without you collapsing first. The mini-games are pretty silly but... that's not a game you buy for the gameplay aspects, right? One REALLY good point is that you have all the time you need to read all the dialog choices, whereas you had only a few second in IM which was quite difficult considering the time needed to figure some words.

The girls are a lot more mature (most of them are in their 20s) and the design reflects it (errrr... especially around their eyes area.... and especially when they lean forward to tell you something... which can be quite difficult to keep... your... concentration........... on.... what.... they.... say).

One great thing about magazines such as these which are also catered to the otaku populace is that even if you don't understand japanese characters much, you still get to enjoy them with those lavish artworks/images. Although i just wish that there were other ways to get them aside from ordering online for my country.

Dengeki Hime is certainly interesting with great looking artwork, but it has quite a lot of unknown characters (at least to me that is). 1 or 2 issues of it might be nice though. Megami has a lot more familiar characters in sexy poses, so I think I would go for the latter. I plan on subscribing to Megami in 2010 in order to obtain all issues of that year (and maybe more).

Megami has nice art in it. Picked up my first one because of the cover at a con once. Obviously geared towards guys, but most figures are too :P The amount of posters and such in each issue is awesome. I like it and give it my thumbs up to anyone looking for a mag like that, but then again, I'm pretty weird when it comes to cute things. I'm way too drawn to anything cute and I'm pretty gender-blind as long as the subject has the required amount of cuteness.

I think I'd be a bit too weird if I said I liked Dengeki Hime though...eheh...but I will admit that some of those less "H" images are very very cute. And no, I've never read it before...really.

And add another vote for the mini Kyouka-sama censors.
