Marimokkori
Marimokkori - a popular character from Hokkaido which is based on a Marimo sea plant. Some company decided to stick an excited dolphin on it and call it Marimokkori. "Mokkori" is the Japanese slang for "an excited dolphin."
On our last trip to Hokkaido, we saw Marimokkori all over the place flashing his excited dolphin at us. And we know what excited dolphins like to do don't we? - jump through hoops.
When the Marimokkori was first conceived, it was considered vulgar and didn't do too well until celebrities like Amuro Namie mentioned it on TV a few times - Marimokkori became a boom overnight. Some more examples of the goods available in the vid below and at the official marimokkori online store.
