A site dedicated to elite expat executives and CEOs in Japan has expressed their passion for anime by posting this image in their forums. The oppai in the rubble are not big enough.

If you are interested in reading about life in Japan, seeing photos taken daily around Tokyo, like Japanese subculture (anime, manga, figures, Dollfies) then you may want to start delving into the Japan or Figure categories for a start or have a gander at all photo articles.

If you don't have much time now, maybe subscribe to the RSS Feed, Twitter Feed or join the other readers in the FaceBook Page.
Alternatively, you may want to read more about the site.
If you are a regular reader then this message will probably annoy you each time - hide it forever.

Sometimes I do wish someone would take a chainsaw to some of the godawful anime shows I've had the displeasure of watching. Then again, I also wish someone would take a chainsaw to half of Hollywood and reality television as well.

Looks like a red chainsaw. Husqvarna makes red chainsaws, though the looks very little like the one in the picture. In fact I think whoever drew this never looked close at a real chainsaw. For starters the saw itself isn't in the middle, but in the far lower left corner (viewed from the angle in the picture). The chassis is also more square like. The one in the picture also lacks all the safety devices and is in fact illegal :P

    unemployed machinist.. yeah

I think they are venting.. And lets honestly face it.. Otaku is not a good word, no matter how we try to take it back.. Its an insult. Yes we are nerds, we are geeks.. etc.. etc.

I think honestly these guys are guys that are living in japan cause of Company decisions (or personal decisions they now regret) And they have to take their angst at how crappy their own lives are out on someone. Remember most Gaijin CEO's are.. the Football star, the Homecoming King.. The guy voted most popular. The ones that mommy and daddy thought were the second coming of jesus. Them sorts. So to see geeks and nerds.. enjoying something.. enrages them.. But if you watch the clips.. The Japanese themselves don't exactly make it easy on non-japanese to live peacefully and happily... Cause , lets face it.. If your an ex-white-american.. you don't look Japanese.. so you can't hide.

It is true that originally the word otaku was meant as an insult, just as the words geeks and nerds. But its usage has changed. People use them as a way to show that they are proud of their interests. Leaving the word will only cause it to be used as an insult again, well that is what I think ^^

i still feel that is a much loaded word to use on anyone, a lot still depends on whether the sayer means any insult. as such i mostly likely won't use it on people. then again one can be philosophical about it like danny when people criticize/judge without understanding.

And that makes up a majority of the world population enslaved as simple-minded drones in the dreaded brainwashing doohickey called " Society ".

It's really about being forced to conform to what's considered acceptable to the eyes of the ignorant masses as a national body. Any deviations from that common view point will be considered as a abomination and thus will be mostly frowned upon, if not being violently rejected. However, it's really happening to all levels of social activity within any known community. Including here.

Only difference is that we'll most probably ignore anything else that is NOT endorsed. :X

let put it this way, they are otaku at heart. Because they need to conform to their work culture, they need to be more man by inciting violance against otaku and moe culture to proof they are not otaku.

Simplify : They hate what they really are. hehe

The mound of "parts" in the picture reminds me of the opening of Battle Angel Alita. I'll have to watch it again soon..

It's a shame those people on that forum can't put their passion into something worthwhile. They don't know what they're missing. They might figure it out in a few more lifetimes..

Oh, by the way, I did laugh about Otkau's not being able to breed because of "the sight of un-enhanced naked human bodies" ^_^ Not like actors, actresses, sports cheerleaders, etc don't "enhance" their bodies ^^

CEO's want to be trolls against anime now too? How about they focus on doing their jobs correctly?
Read another recent study how many CEO's are a factor of stress themselves for their subordinates down to the lower levels while their own stress levels remain significantly less over a broad range. So the premise that the 'bosses' move their stress over to the people below them seems to be true.

After seeing this I investigated the site. Wondering what the point is and I came across this when I clicked on friends "The network for people who like to meet new friends, travel, learn languages, and explore." Okay doesn't that sound positive and productive?

After looking closely at the post, and comments of others I'm pretty sure its become a site for trolls and biter people. What ever the purpose was its become corrupt. DC has a more positive view, and the comments are more uplifting. This site is just a downer.

Honestly, what does it matter? If people hate what you like, too bad, because surely you hate something they like too. No matter what, people will hate stuff. I hate Firefox, but loads of people love it, I hate reality shows, same thing. To care about something like this is silly.

oh and to comment on their calling us anime fans "freakazoids"..I'm a respected business owner who's been featured on BusinessWeek, programmer, artist, singer, model, and sports player (hockey, baseball) My ANIME company keeps me out of the 9-5 rout and eventually I won't kiss the rear of ANY boss because of it. I'm pretty sure the guys at that forum are licking the boots of their boss on a daily basis and fail at life! All of us anime fans here have even more skills than I do and are far, far more superior beings -_-

Well I hope they read this since my sales numbers in 2007 was $40K then jumped to $100K in 2008 when all you sad, sad little CEOs were either crying for help or hiding from the police. None of you moronic CEOs earned a dinner with the heads of BusinessWeek! I did though, since ANIME CEO > ANY CEO -_- So Eat THAT anime haters!!

So some troll decided to bash anime... If I should care for all trolls on the internet I couldn't do anything else.

I care more for the other news you see if you follow the link (the first one). Specially the debate about giving gaijin the rights to vote. Looks like a demonstration in Akihabara turned into a mob and beat up somebody who supported the idea. I'm actually against the idea of giving the right to vote to non-citizens. Imagine all Koreans in Japan moves to the same town and then vote that Koreans should be treated better than the Japanese in that town. It may sound wicked, but it is what can legally happen if they get the right to vote. Besides I think it's a wicked idea to even consider giving the right to vote to somebody with language skills so bad that they can't follow political debates (which sadly is possible here. Even exchange students who only stays for 6-12 months can vote for some odd reason)

Exactly! They are trolls, who cares what they think.

Secondly though, If you have a good policy on voting that shouldn't be a problem. Here in Canada it is a minimum of 3 years before you are allowed to vote (could be longer if you don't take care of becoming a citizen as soon as possible).

Sort of reminds me of my friend's story (he's Australian), having shared a wine-tasting tour in France with a bunch of American 'Oil Magnates' who couldn't stop insulting (not mocking; just insulting) the French. The twits kept complaining day in and out about how much they hated the French--obviously not realizing that they're in France, their host is French, the people all around were French, etc. There's a lot of two-nit twits out there who hate something AND THEN go off and work in a country full of things they hate. Plain stupidity, actually.

The only reason we see stuff like this is because Anime Otaku are a lot less efficient at killing offensive idiots than Terrorists are.

We get weeaboos everywhere. I -guess- it's probably a sign of how safe a hobby Anime is for weeaboos. Gun (HK movie weeabooes) and sword (Samurai/Ninja/kungfu weeaboos) usually end up adding themselves to the Darwin Awards list or doing something preternaturally stupid.

    Meh, such people does exist.
They just didn't see it further way.
I also take a look for awhile, and most comments of them just shows that they're much more idiotic than us; I see one of them mentioning about the the tentacle thing, and he just simply said "Don't lead to pregnancies". Well, don't know about that guy, but if I would like to have kids, I'm not going to use tentacles, for sure, heh.
My solution about this, is just to stay away as much as I can, and try to just let them do whatever they like, and do whatever I like. It's not like we're gonna fade away, right?
They just can't understand our world, our nation. Don't really want to make difference, but I'm actually trying to make a 'short' article about this world's nations. Not about the regions, but the people.
Don't worry, I'd repeat it back again, it's about the 'Law of Balance', if there's a like, then there's a dislike.
Even lovely heroes always have enemies, right?
