Japan Arcades

Mio and Ritsu hit the arcades in this Game Center diorama. I've always called them "arcades" back in the UK but have gotten used to the term "Game Center" which is abbreviated as "geh-sen" (ゲーセン)。
Photos from Miki80 via Frankie.

If you are interested in reading about life in Japan, seeing photos taken daily around Tokyo, like Japanese subculture (anime, manga, figures, Dollfies) then you may want to start delving into the Japan or Figure categories for a start or have a gander at all photo articles.

If you don't have much time now, maybe subscribe to the RSS Feed, Twitter Feed or join the other readers in the FaceBook Page.
Alternatively, you may want to read more about the site.
If you are a regular reader then this message will probably annoy you each time - hide it forever.

Most stuff which goes on in the mind aren't suitable for the real world. For instance in the mind bare eyes is a good thing. However once I had to assist a customer and her shirt was like... well I guess I would declare it semi bare eyes. This turned out to be really bad because instead of concentrating on my task I kept on thinking "don't look, don't look. It will be bad if I'm caught looking". This made it really uncomfortable for me. Most (all?) countries have laws declaring that revealing so much in public that it makes it uncomfortable for other people is a crime. So many people here fails to obey that law though and the police does nothing so in reality it's the same as the law doesn't exist :(

It's not toys. It's actually serious business. Figures aren't toys either, it's a lifestyle. At least that's what I gather from some people here. It can be quite dangerous to call a hobby for toys.

I see you are from Australia. There is a narrowgauge railroad in Australia used for steam operation. Since it's the only narrowgauge railroad in Australia and it's used "for fun" (which is for tourists and similar) then other railroad people call it "toy gauge". I'm told you shouldn't tell that to the people working at that railroad ^^
In reality it isn't a toy train. I think they use a gauge of 1067 mm, which is the same as the standard gauge in Japan and nobody would claim most trains in Japan to be just toy trains.
