I love dolls and think they are most cutesome - take this little darling for example...
Found somewhere on Beinart.

I often see complaints from folks who mumble on about how I started to write about Dollfies and how scary they think they are...

If you are interested in reading about life in Japan, seeing photos taken daily around Tokyo, like Japanese subculture (anime, manga, figures, Dollfies) then you may want to start delving into the Japan or Figure categories for a start or have a gander at all photo articles.

If you don't have much time now, maybe subscribe to the RSS Feed, Twitter Feed or join the other readers in the FaceBook Page.
Alternatively, you may want to read more about the site.
If you are a regular reader then this message will probably annoy you each time - hide it forever.

Wow did anyone order a bowl of Centipede with a Side of Baby? That is an odd/somewhat scary but interesting one the less. Yet how can people fear Dolphies. They are just kids to most of us.

Yikes! I find some dolls creepy, but I think it's due to the cognitive dissonance (wow!) between the lifelike appearance and yet the totally emotionless expressions... so Japanese figures and BJD aren't spooky, as they have very definite expressions.

Dollfies in general set off my Uncanny Valley alarms for some reason, which is why I find them creepy. I love my scaled PVC figures, so its probably due to the Dollfie's size and more realistic eyes that put it straight into that Uncanny Valley for me. Don't mind Danny talking about them, but you aren't going to convince me to get one.

I don't find Dollfies scary or mind reading about them. ^^

To be quite frank, I don't get why Danny so often has to mention things like this or adjust the site to compensate for people finding a certain content bothersome, we've seen complaints about the abundance or lack of Japan articles, photography stuff, Gundam, Figures, Dollfies,...

Personally I have never minded the diversity and seeing more of certain subjects at any given time. If it's something new I know nothing of like Dollfies it's an excellent chance to discover what it's all about, and should I not find it interesting, I simply won't read articles or posts about it, but I certainly won't start complaining Danny posts too many things about topic x or y.

Elite core centipede! That is an awesome work of art. Yeah, it's scary but it's cool at the same time. It reminds me of the doll/caterpillar puppet from Fred Stuhr's video for the band Tool "Prison Sex." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gf1vC8ubnkY . If you find Dollfies scary you'd find that absolutely horrifying. Me, I thought it was awesome. As was Fred, who was a friend of mine I lost too soon.
