Hamburg Conference

The Trend Tag (Trend Day) conference went well with only one major hiccup - my MacBook Pro decided to die just a few hours before the presentation. Luckily I made a backup to a flash card but it wasn't the latest copy.
Was able to use another presenters mac for my talk which saved my life - he was the only one with a mac + keynote.
I only have these screencaps at the moment and am waiting for the official photos t be released. The video of the whole conference will be released too and will post them when ready.
Would just like to say thanks to all for your words of encouragement which went through my head just before I stepped on stage.
And yes - that is Haruhi on the podium ^^;
If you are interested in reading about life in Japan, seeing photos taken daily around Tokyo, like Japanese subculture (anime, manga, figures, Dollfies) then you may want to start delving into the Japan or Figure categories for a start or have a gander at all photo articles.

What was the subject Danny?
Was it in english, german or japanese?
I'm interesting in hearing your lecture... probably has lots of interesting things to me!
Even more now that I'm taking my blogging more seriously... I'm desperately in need of as many tips as possible. It's kinda crude yet, and I know I can make it look and work better, but am still looking for information on how to.
Also, it's kinda funny the contrast between a lecture in an event on Hamburg and... dating sim screens, anime characters and a figure back. LOL
Even more since Danny is wearing all those black clothes... almost Jobs-like. XD

LOL, I wonder what those Germans thought when you were at the h-game slide...Nice job Danny, I knew you'd do well
i worry about that too. Read someone's blog who attended danny's presentation. He understood danny perfectly fine, but there seemed to be a few persons who were a little irritated. Well thats the germans for you, some of us still live in their own little world xD
anyway, those picture look very good. i hope ill be able to see the video soon. And maybe... maybe ^^ ... someone got an idea out of your presentation danny. And we foreign (german) otakus will profit from this. So let me say a word of thanks and please continue with your work :)

That must have been quite a fright having your computer die right at such a critical time... they tend to do that alas. >_<
(No matter which brand, OS or such, most often computer hard- or software will fail when you most need it and least expect it.)
Seems like the presentation went well though which is good.
I'm curious to see/read the presentation and also to know what the conference attendees reaction was.
Because it's interesting and positive to see that you are able to make such a presentation and not only speak of technological web evolutions but also bring everything concerning the otakusphere (anime, manga, eroge, games, collecting,...) to a serious forum and audience since it is an existence valid of attention and respect, certainly since there is such a definite Internet/technological presence by that demographic group.

Well done!!! I´m really looking forward to the mp3 Version, so I can listen to it in the train and the vid 2, want to see the faces of the crowd when the eroge screen appears (^_^) Thx for representing the Otaku culture on such a big non-otaku event! BTW: Nice suit, you and Haruhi make a good couple on stage.
Haha, Haruhi on the podium is win.
I wonder though. There aren't a lot of otakus in Europe (or maybe they're all hidden, I can't seem to find them). Eroges aren't that well looked at. ^^''

congrats danny. be waiting for your post soon. wat a close shave, luckily you had a backup and you manage to find a mac book. sometimes you jus cant except people to follow the fast pace IT trend like in japan. in some countries, the IT pace is slow that that you be surprise.
Congrats on a successful presentation, Danny!
That really sucks, to have your laptop die just before the presentation. Good job on keeping a backup.
LOL at the image of some erogame flashing by. What must those Germans be thinking?
Speaking of laptops breaking down during travels, I experienced one myself just a few months ago.
I flew to my folks place for holiday that time and brought my laptop back expecting to play some PC games I brought with me to kill time there, only to find that the motherboard had to die on that day of all the times. I even checked to made sure the laptop was functioning the previous night! I ended up having quite a miserable time for a week.
(There were of course other computers in my folks' house, but it just doesn't feel the same. )

Congratulations! I'm looking forward to the video too.
Prologue: I have a time machine.
Why is it that when ever any needs their Mac for any kind of "mission critical" application it dies either right before or during? I'm not trying to start a Mac vs. Windows argument. I just have noticed this trend lately and find it interesting...
