The Trend Tag (Trend Day) conference went well with only one major hiccup - my MacBook Pro decided to die just a few hours before the presentation. Luckily I made a backup to a flash card but it wasn't the latest copy.
Was able to use another presenters mac for my talk which saved my life - he was the only one with a mac + keynote.
I only have these screencaps at the moment and am waiting for the official photos t be released. The video of the whole conference will be released too and will post them when ready.

Would just like to say thanks to all for your words of encouragement which went through my head just before I stepped on stage.

And yes - that is Haruhi on the podium ^^;

If you are interested in reading about life in Japan, seeing photos taken daily around Tokyo, like Japanese subculture (anime, manga, figures, Dollfies) then you may want to start delving into the Japan or Figure categories for a start or have a gander at all photo articles.

If you don't have much time now, maybe subscribe to the RSS Feed, Twitter Feed or join the other readers in the FaceBook Page.
Alternatively, you may want to read more about the site.

Oh wow...the panic before the presentation, trying to get your slideshow going, must've been horrible. Glad it worked out somewhat, at least.

How different was the latest version in comparison to the one you used?

    What was the subject Danny?
Was it in english, german or japanese?

I'm interesting in hearing your lecture... probably has lots of interesting things to me!

Even more now that I'm taking my blogging more seriously... I'm desperately in need of as many tips as possible. It's kinda crude yet, and I know I can make it look and work better, but am still looking for information on how to.

Also, it's kinda funny the contrast between a lecture in an event on Hamburg and... dating sim screens, anime characters and a figure back. LOL

Even more since Danny is wearing all those black clothes... almost Jobs-like. XD

That must have been quite a fright having your computer die right at such a critical time... they tend to do that alas. >_<
(No matter which brand, OS or such, most often computer hard- or software will fail when you most need it and least expect it.)

Seems like the presentation went well though which is good.
I'm curious to see/read the presentation and also to know what the conference attendees reaction was.
Because it's interesting and positive to see that you are able to make such a presentation and not only speak of technological web evolutions but also bring everything concerning the otakusphere (anime, manga, eroge, games, collecting,...) to a serious forum and audience since it is an existence valid of attention and respect, certainly since there is such a definite Internet/technological presence by that demographic group.

Well done!!! I´m really looking forward to the mp3 Version, so I can listen to it in the train and the vid 2, want to see the faces of the crowd when the eroge screen appears (^_^) Thx for representing the Otaku culture on such a big non-otaku event! BTW: Nice suit, you and Haruhi make a good couple on stage.

Haha, Haruhi on the podium is win.

I wonder though. There aren't a lot of otakus in Europe (or maybe they're all hidden, I can't seem to find them). Eroges aren't that well looked at. ^^''

Congrats on a successful presentation, Danny!

That really sucks, to have your laptop die just before the presentation. Good job on keeping a backup.

LOL at the image of some erogame flashing by. What must those Germans be thinking?

Speaking of laptops breaking down during travels, I experienced one myself just a few months ago.

I flew to my folks place for holiday that time and brought my laptop back expecting to play some PC games I brought with me to kill time there, only to find that the motherboard had to die on that day of all the times. I even checked to made sure the laptop was functioning the previous night! I ended up having quite a miserable time for a week.

(There were of course other computers in my folks' house, but it just doesn't feel the same. )
