Big Boss Aki at GSC already showed the BRS video to some of us at the Tokyo Figure Show and I can tell you the animation quality is truly incredible.

If you are interested in reading about life in Japan, seeing photos taken daily around Tokyo, like Japanese subculture (anime, manga, figures, Dollfies) then you may want to start delving into the Japan or Figure categories for a start or have a gander at all photo articles.

    Oh wow, I haven't heard of this until now. The images look very nice indeed, i'll have to look into this. I love how BRS is designed so this will be a must for me. Hooray for GSC, hope they make this very good.

      Actually, it's more like art to rock song to amv to statue to anime. Yes, this could be unprecedented. I already have the statue on order. I've seen some gab about an anime but this is the first official news of it. Between this, FLCL, and Haruhi, there could be a whole new sub genre of anime, schoolgirls with guitars. That's something I've been seeing more and more of, especially in the figures and cosplay.

      That's a little normal because animation production is made by Ordet studio created by Yutaka Yamamoto (Kannagi's director and Lucky Star eps 1-4 director) who worked at Kyoto Animation :)
      Yamamoto'll supervise this project too.

    Please bear with my ignorance, is Black Rock Shooter originally supposed to be one of those fan-customized Mikus like Yowane Haku and Akita Neru? If so, then double wow that the fan-derived version actually received the anime treatment before the original even gets her own.

      huke's original illustration of Black Rock Shooter inspired ryo, the composer, to make a song about her. He just used Miku's voice to sing it. Soo the original B★RS isn't Miku, actually ^^;

      huke also made girls similar to B★RS, like one has a sword, another that controls a golem (?)

    I just saw the trailer at Animelo last night just after then had Miku sing in front of everyone!
    It was a huge surprise!

    They definitely kept this under wraps.
    Saw Good Smile Company at Animelo too! I was really bad at Jankenpon so didn't win any of the free figures they gave away. (^_^;)

    I noticed they added an extra poster to their booth regarding the anime and also seemed to have another black rock shooter figure on display in addition to the one we've already seen.

    Must every anime series have some form of the sailor uniform school girl element in it? Can't we move past that? It's like a cancer that plagues the anime industry. I understand there's a market for that, and I have no problem with it. I just don't understand why it's SO predominant. It's derivative. It's unoriginal. I would think that creators would demand a little more of themselves and not just default to "tried and true" establishments like the sailor school girl. Create a new world for us. An entirely new experience. Don't taint something original by reducing it to the standard fair.
