      Yeah, the wiki says it all :P Americans took the word for a cloth of tartan and turned it into tartan :/
      
      I have Scottish blood, and many of my cousins are bagpipers with tartan kilts, so I've always known it as tartan. Damn worldwide inconsistencies.

I LOVE IT!!!! I love plaid. Bring back plaid!!! Superdry did with their shirts for a bit. I have a pink one. It's a bit old now... and scrufty.
