    I would prefer Gundams over Transformers any day. I guess that is because I was exposed to Gundam at a really early age. Then again I also like the old Transformers designs.

    Not sure why, but the transformers toys just aren't doing it for me anymore. 15 years ago maybe, but Anime story lines and characters have ruined me. I'll take a Gunpala anyday over optimus.

    I've been a fan of Transformers since 2 weeks old... I was born on march 4th and TF started playing on march 23rd and my mom said that I used to watch it lol... I just remember starting around 2 years old and getting a Rodimus Prime (it was 1986 back then...) for Christmas. I gotta say thought that Gundam is more part of my life today. Transformers brings back some memories and I kinda find the movies really nice and still collect some stuff (I've kept all my old TFs!) but Gundam is more ''real'' to me. Heck, I could even touch a real life-size Gundam not so long ago so it has alot of meaning to me. Great pictures btw Danny. I love the stance they gave them.

    Ah yes, Skids, one half of the stereotypical twins. If the transformers were people and the twins were played by two actors, this movie would have received so much heat for a negative portrayal of African American stereotypes. As it stands, its a pretty disappointing sequel that could have been half an hour shorter if it wasn't for pointless slow motion sequences. The dialogue was pretty terrible as well, but I guess that could be attributed to the writer's guild strike that occurred when the script was being written.

      I come off as a bit harsh there, but at least the action sequences were decent and the CGI is great. It's too bad that these action figures can't replicate the complex transformation sequences that their onscreen counterparts perform.

      I always found it quite weird that people say the twins were 'racist'. Just because they use ebonics somehow this is racist against african americans? I think that statement in itself is racist. I've seen white guys, asians, latinos, and more that use ebonics to express themselves as indiciduals. Too many race police out there these days.

      As far as the movie goes, I thought it was great! I was only a little dissapointed at megatron calling someone 'my master'. I also didnt like his anti-climactic resurection. They could have made that scene so much bigger! They should've never introdoced this FALLEN character and just went straight into the Galvatron story. Ah well, cool toys.

        It was not only the language they used, but other stereotypes were present as well, such as the fact that they "couldn't read" and that one of them had a gold tooth, that mirror the negative manner that African Americans were portrayed in American media from days past. Even if it was not meant to be a stereotypical (notice I did not mention racism in my post, as that implies deliberate malicious intent, which I didn't think was the case) portrayal, it was still bad humor that did not make the characters endearing in any way. There are better ways to make the characters funny and memorable without using bad racial caricatures out of a blackface minstrel performance from the 20s or 30s.

          I agree that they couldve done something else to make the characters likable. The ghetto talk was so cheesy.

          However, I'm firm on my opinion of people who consider this a direct connection with african americans. Race is a touchy subject, but often times I find its people that are not a member of the race that is supposedly getting discriminated against that cry racism or things of that nature. The fact of the matter is, in my opinion, when some people see robots (or anything else) with gold teeth that say "yo dawg" and cant read, the first thing that comes to their mind shouldnt be "Hey! This is mean to black people!". That in itself, is racist.

          I understand your point and the fact that you didnt call it racist. Unfortunately, most people cry racism too much.

    unlike the majority of the replies I've read; I, on the other hand, am starting to get into transformers (specifically the movie ones) -- although only on the Revoltech-like Robot Replicas, the good deluxe-classes (i.e. Jazz, Bumblebee, Barricade, Sideswipe, Sideways) and the Trans Scanning ones... -- although I'm not really into the Human Alliance ones (as shown above)... ^^;

    Hi,
    I think the new transformer's are cool but when you look at the old retro bots they just look average. However given the decision between buying old re-release's or new transformers i would probably go the new ones to see what has changed over the years in design etc...
