By the time I went to grab the Lumix, the second rainbow had faded and left its partner behind. Taken last weekend. Camera does not capture the real beauty though. Wonder how many years it will be when they have 360 cameras.

As for what time I took this photo - well its the question for round 2 of the 3 figure giveaway over at Figure.fm.

I saw huge rainbow last year right when I was going home from a part time job. It was right after a severe thunderstorm and the sun was setting - perfect conditions. If the ground didn't exist, it probably would've appeared as a full circle.

Sugoi!! Very nice capture Danny!! Pretty good for the Lumix. At what resolution is the original and does it look as good on fullscreen? (as a wallpaper...?) Cause the lighting looks amazing! I love the blue in the back and the crisp orange of the sunset reflecting on the clouds. subarashii....

Secondary rainbow are created because the light that went through the raindrop reflected the second time so as a result a beautifully double rainbow is created.

Photos rarely do rainbows justice. :P Most of their awe and beauty comes from their stretching from horizon to horizon, which you can't capture well on camera. It's hard to set up foreground/background composition, and the colors are difficult to capture as well. ^^; Mine usually turn out a bit on the cool side.
