A few updates on Figure.fm while we take a look at the most cutesome Taiga Aisaka Puchi Nendoroid Sukumizu version.

Later this week, all registered users on figure.fm will be able to post photos - these are folks who have registered for more than 3 weeks ago on DC. I will also open registrations at figure.fm and there will be a lower hurdle of 20 comments and a week before one can post.
There are a few lurking admins who should be able to nuke the trolls without them causing too much damage.

Also, folks wonder when and why to post on figure.fm. Well if you post a series of figure photos on DC then you will get complaints - not from me but from the community in general. At Figure.fm, you can post as much as you want.
If you are posting some photos of figma Mikuru for example, use the multi-image upload feature to put all her photos in one post. If you are posting many different figure photos however, I suggest using a separate post for each figure.

Another reason why you may want to post on figure.fm is that I will be choosing your goodsmile/max factory related posts and posting them on the official Good Smile English Blog - I posted one this morning from member katana's blog here. I will only be choosing stuff that you post on figure.fm ^o^

Another reason why you may like to post on figure.fm is because all the figure related giveaways from now will take place on figure.fm - The first giveaway will be 1070 USD and take place *this week*

I forgot to mention the other reason why you may want to post at figure.fm. One of my goals with figure.fm is to involve you with the figure makers that I work with - namely Good Smile and Kotobukiya for now. I want them to work directly with you too and by profiling your figure shoots on figure.fm, they will take notice which may lead to interesting opportunities.

Also, DC has a wide variety of users with different interests. Many folks who enjoy the photo walks and Japan news for example are not into figures. I will be posting more figure and Dollfie related stuff on figure.fm instead. Will still do figure stuff on DC but will keep a balance.

If you are interested in reading about life in Japan, seeing photos taken daily around Tokyo, like Japanese subculture (anime, manga, figures, Dollfies) then you may want to start delving into the Japan or Figure categories for a start or have a gander at all photo articles.

If you don't have much time now, maybe subscribe to the RSS Feed, Twitter Feed or join the other readers in the FaceBook Page.
Alternatively, you may want to read more about the site.
If you are a regular reader then this message will probably annoy you each time - hide it forever.

This item was posted in the Japan category. You can see more of everything else or subscribe via RSS instead.

    sounds like a good idea and I will register to Figure.fm soon. Once I get a good camera, then my figure shoots will start as well over at figure.fm . It is nice to know that such companies as Goodsmile Company and Kotobukiya will start using certain figure shoots from figure.fm

      I think what he's referring to is the spamming of figure pictures/news multiple (more than 4) in a row which pushes half of what's on the front page to the bottom. Just my opinion.

    Why not just allow multiple image uploads on regular member stuff news right here on Dannychoo? The complaints about "posting a series of figure photos on DC" are from members who posted one photo of their shoot per news article several times in a row.

    One of the selling points of Dannychoo was it was a place where I could go to get updated on all things in Japan as well as all different merchandise from the Otaku culture. A one stop shop. Not complaining, just wondering...

      Yah, now we have another site to follow + beeing able to respond to news items (especially those of your own) will take more time as I don't see a *track-comment-function* around the corner. Getting more involved with figure makers is awesome but still wondering how things will turn out.

      for example:
      If Danny posts a news item on both sites won't there be a discussion on the same thing by the same people or will there occur some sort of separation across the community?
      Will there arise a new "sub"-community over at figure.fm for us figure collecting "pervs"?

        I'm falling into the line of the worriers. I liked having one site for everything and separate RSS feeds for Danny and the members. I subscribe to just Danny's stuff, so I know when to go to the site and check out the articles (don't like reading in the RSS reader). Then I check out the member news as well. I only saw one (1) feed on figure.fm, and if Danny's going to post all figure related articles there, it'll become difficult trying to keep up with them.

        And if the posts from figure.fm aren't going to show up here, the community could face division = baaad ;_;

    I really like this idea. Though it sorta makes me feel that they're two different sites, even though it's still pretty much the same Danny Choo community, so I don't know how I feel about that since I like the whole "one-stop otaku hangout" idea of dannychoo.com. I will have to do more than the random glance there now, because I do so love dollies... <.< I need to live vicariously through other members and their photos of dolls, because the cash isn't raking in like I'd hoped. ^^;

    Anywho, I'm going to keep both tabs open from now on so that I can get the full experience! ^_^

      forgot to add this:
      DC.com is a business after all and some visitors might be disturbed by stuff like this,
      Sure it splits the community a bit but opens new doors aswell

    Danny, I was wondering if there was any way to do an 'upload from web' sort of thing for linking images? For instance, I have a flickr account, and most of my photos get forwarded there. Would there be a way for me to plug in the direct image url and have it download to my post that way? Just a suggestion that could save some image hosting on your computers ^^ I am looking forward to posting to figure.fm! ^o^

    Maybe for me it's a little bit of nostalgia, but I am really happy that Figure.fm has made a return. A lot of the figure blogs that I liked to follow sprung out of the Figure.fm community. I'm hoping the same thing happens with version two.

    i mean selling 3% more figure outside of japan is good but... but i dont feel its that much that it should have an impact on what type of figure goodmsile should make ?

      I also use a point and shoot camera to take pictures of my figures... what I do to remedy the bad flash is trying to cover it with a piece of paper to redirect the light... it's a tad difficult to figure it out completely though ^^;

    Thanks for the new site Danny!!

    I was sad once the original figure site you had went down (I had lots of pic on there, haha).
    So I'm excited now that I can post some new pics.

    Question: Will the same rules apply as they did with the original site where you had the "one pair of "eye's" per daily post", or something like that.

    I don't have (or care for) any incident figures, per se, but I have one particular figure from Orchid Seed that kind of has very HUGE "eyes"...yea...
