Motsuyaki

I love grilled organs. I get them all the time when I've browsing the streets of Hong Kong window shopping. :D

Personally, I'm a big fan of intestine and liver. Most other Americans can't stand it, so I guess you have to grow up with the taste to really enjoy it. ^^;

I'm not much of a fan of innards m'self, especially liver x_x

ugghh... not really fond of animal organs... kinda like cow's brain and lung though...^^ But liver... no... just no... XC

Foie gras was alright for me, but other parts is challenging~~~~~

I prefer other parts of an animal.

Don't like any organs...except liver lol, best thing ever. I love liver soooo much. A long time ago I really loved brainz too... but kind of stopped liking those when I realized what it exactly was.

Oh yeah! Grilled offal rocks. Bacon wrapped chicken livers, haggis, isaw, and callos are also quite yummy, if one can get past the the idea of eating "spare parts".

As long as I can a trusty bottle of BBQ sauce by my side or the ting is fried, otherwise... I don't think I can stomach more than a serving. Also, no brains please. :3

Or I could just choose not to know. Ignorance is bliss. XDDD

I haven't tried much organs ( never tried brain or tongue or intestine ), but I like beef and chicken liver and chicken hearts and chicken gizards if cooked the right way.

Aahhh.. so you have that there too. Here we call them "Isaw" can range from chicken's head, gizzard, feet, liver, to a cow's tongue or shred of heart.

Lots of innards used in French cooking, and not many i don't like. I dislike the jelly-like innards (brain), and some parts like tongue, but the rest is okay to me : boudin, tripes, liver, hearts, kidney, chicken gizards, all is good and tasty.

I think that people finding it disgusting is more a problem of "eating innards" than the taste itself, since most of time it's just meat anyway. A lil' bit like people can't eat horse.

Personnaly i'm willing to try anything, not many food taboos...

It's mostly the idea of eating a piece of brain or tongue that makes me go bleeeh.. makes me think of that airplane scene from hannibal, so no thanks...

Philippine cuisine includes a lot of good and extremely tasty stuff out of cow, pig, and chicken innards.

I'm always partial to pig and chicken liver, pig intestines (they call 'em chitterlings in the US).

Also other parts. We make a tasty dish from pig face. :)

Afew Japan trips ago I was taken to a restaraunt and we had a selection of meat on skewers, they were BBQ'ed. Very yunmy!!!, but their texture was different.
After my 5th helping of the different offerings, one rather chewy morcel got my intreset to ask my friend what it was we were eating.
She then told me what each of the different plates where.
From memory something along the lines of chicken livers, Chicken hearts and Gizzards came the reply!!!

I NOW dont ask "what is it we are eating?" any more!!!!

Don't really like the thought of it ^^; Parents love pig's intestine and eat it frequently... Looking at it makes me go >o< already......

Not a big fan, but not a picky one too. My most fav would be a fried liver with onion but I don't say no to other intestines like hearts, lungs or stomachs. Never tried a tongue or a brain but ate a soup made with duck blood (a long time ago though). Oh and one of the specialities of Polish cuisine is a think called kaszanka similar a bit to an English black pudding, kaszanka is made from pig's blood, other intestines and kasha. Kashanka is a nice addition to any BBQ, especially grilled in a tin foil, best served with a slice of fresh bread and a pint of beer ^^.

I've had pork intestines before, they were pretty good. Don't think they were grilled though. :p

Sorry! Not for me since I'm a vegetarian. Too much grilled foods can definitely damage you in the end so watch out for your diet.

OMG motsuyaki is soo good. I went to the motsunabe place in Roppongi with my friends. I forgot the name of the place but it was the bomb. I love it!! I miss the foods in Japan (T_T)

animal innards? is it really that weird?
here we ate brains (there's a soup prepared with sheep heads), cow lungs, hearts (anticuchos is one of the most delicious dish ;)~ ), stomach, liver (fried is great) or pâté (weird way to write that), intestines. I'm hungry again~~ someting I don't like are criadillas (bull testicles) other cultures eat bull penis in soup. they have their beliefs. =P

I eat intestines and livers. Organs are pretty bad for you though in terms of stuff like cholesterol.

organs.... ew that's the most disgusting part of any animal... smells so bad, has funny tastes....
if not cooked properly, has high chance of food poisoning...

but really... I'm okay with kidneys, liver, giblets... but won't ever touch other digestive organs.

Livers have distinct feel to it when you chew on it and I personally like how it feels ^_^ Motsuyaki sounds interesting enough, I'll try it next time!

I've been, i've eaten and I'm not all that fussed.

Can't eat liver tho. The iron taste gets to me everytime. Heart is interesting. Quite tasty but very tough. Intestines... meh.

Bottom line is, if it's presented I'll eat it (except liver) but I wouldn't go out of my way to have some.

all i can say is that when i was 6 my parents tried to make me eat chicken kidney and heart and i didn't like it at all (almost threw it up) lol .... now from time to time they put some chicken kidney heart and other stuff in the grill and eat 'em that's when i run away lol

My wife loves liver and onions. I'll eat braunschweiger if it's Oscar Meyer brand. But stuff like head cheese and tongue and tripe are definately passers!

I'll only eat cooked skeletal muscles, no intestines.

Kidneys taste like rubbery meat that's been boiled in piss, large intestine is rubbery meat cooked in feces, small intestine is just rubbery meat, and I have no idea how anyone can eat hearts - I thought they were really hard. At least trying to cut through a pig's heart with a scalpel and scissors took quite a bit of effort (but it wasn't cooked).

I've had liver before I like that and sheep's brain but yeah I don't think I would eat anything else but hey it's not that i couldn't stomach it, it really just doesn't appeal to me I don't think it would taste any good but I always give new things a go.

Oh wow, those are like the grilled foods sold on the streets in the Philippines. They are delicious! My favorites are mostly chicken parts...head, intestine, neck & feet. Not for those with weak stomach I guess. I won't even get into what "balut" is.

Still, in some southern dishes liver is an ingredient. Taste alright but couldn't get into eating things like intestines.

I am not a huge fan of organs either. Although I dont think I have ever had anything the idea seems strange for some reason haha. I should probably try them out at some point.

Every once in a while it's nice. There's also a Korean dish called "Soon-deh" that's basically a sausage with noodles inside that's really good.

Grilled chicken hearts and pig intestines are actually very good. Yeah, it sounds gross if you're not used to it, but it's real good. Not really healthy, however.

only organs i have a taste for is cow stomache (i think thats what it's called), and thats about it unless i can think of anything else, but it's not the strangest thing i have eaten, i've eaten water beetle, turtle, snake etc, the list goes on.

I love some them they are so tasty....and helps a lot for health I think hahaha.....

Once had skewered meat from a supermarket basement food hall in Tokyo, not knowing that it was gizzards and innards, and I had a hard time finishing it... =P I didn't know what I was getting, only lined up at the queue cos it was one of the shorter ones in the food hall... HAHAHA...

One thing I love that isn't innards, but that isn't too common too, is ox tongue! Sliced really thin, and cooked on a grill, with special sauce, おいしい!!!

Used to eat organs quite often when I was in China. I remember we would buy live chickens, so when we killed and gutted it, we'd pretty much cook every part.

My favourite dish as a kid was cooked ducked blood, with some spicy sauce. Used to be able to buy them from street vendors. Of course, such practices aren't as common in North America. ^^;;

Nowadays, the only organs I eat are livers (Pork, usually). Might have some chicken hearts/gizzards from time to time if I have a particular craving. ~~

I'll really eat any kind of organs, they truly are some of the best parts of the animal. Whenever I go to Hong Kong, I'm always sure that I pick up some pig small intestines and pretty much whatever I can get my grubby hands on. It's just so delicious (when you mind the cholesterol)!

I hate grilled organs. XD My Grandma loves Motsuyaki. I can't stand watching people eat that kind of stuff. D:

My Japanese teacher "persuaded" me to try hearts and liver at a yakitori place the other night - the hearts were OK, but the texture of the liver ew ew ew. In general, I avoid internal organs other than my own.

I quite like organs, except for intestines, that I just can't stomach, lol. Some organs do look disgusting (or unique) on a plate but I find sauces can do wonders.
