Kobe Tetsujin

Tokyo gets the 1/1 scale Gundam and Kobe gets the 1/1 scale Tetsujin 28.
Tetsujin will be 18 meters tall and is in the middle of construction.
Construction cost of the monument is 135,000,000 yen (1.4 million USD) with 45,000,000 yen of that being paid by the city of Kobe. The rest is being paid by donations and businesses.
The monument will be completed on the 4th of October and you will be able to see it in Shin-Nagata Kobe.
Video and photos below of some of the construction work going on.
Maybe these 1/1 scale mecha's being constructed around Japan are our secret defense system? ^^;
Some retro Tetsujin below.
And for those who have not seen the live action movie.
