7pm in Tokyo - preparing Vader Armor for a potential customer.

Closer look at the A New Hope helmet - much preferred this over the Empire Strikes Back helmet design.

By about 8pm-ish I am no longer a Sith lord - armor has been adopted by a new parent.
Will be going out n about with him in Tokyo once hes gotten used to and made a few mods for himself.

Just curious - how many of you cosplay?
I know that Gordon, ClearTranquil and Dancing Queen cosplay but who are the rest - come forward!

If you are interested in reading about life in Japan, seeing photos taken daily around Tokyo, like Japanese subculture (anime, manga, figures, Dollfies) then you may want to start delving into the Japan or Figure categories for a start or have a gander at all photo articles.

If you don't have much time now, maybe subscribe to the RSS Feed, Twitter Feed or join the other readers in the FaceBook Page.
Alternatively, you may want to read more about the site.
If you are a regular reader then this message will probably annoy you each time - hide it forever.

Very nice! I want to make a ToHeart2 costume, but I don't know if I'll ever get around to it or if I'll even have a convention to wear it to since I've pretty much sworn off my local one.

cosplayed at the second con I ever attended, as the lead female in Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou (Miyazawa Yukino). I even had a cute hat and short hair appropriate for the character. And my glasses.

recently I cosplayed as a Mafia-type girl for my first ever photoshoot with friends. next up, school uniforms.

in future I would like to be able to dress up as either Oscar from Rose of Versailles (in particular the red-and-white uniform), and as Der Tod from the musical Elisabeth. (because I am a Takarazuka Kagekidan dork :))

For that quality of armor, $500 would only get you the helmet. A brand new Rubies Supreme Vader outfit, as far as i know, would set you back at least $1000

Usually, I cosplay as one or two characters for set days at conventions, then wear lolita fashion. I also owe a yukata and a few maid outfits, so I wear those when I get too lazy to sew a costume..

Not to sound like a total n00b, but what are the differences ^^I I never noticed anything from the movies.

I did a quickly put together cosplay of Jin from Samurai Champloo because I had all the necessary materials and naturally long straight black hair. Truth be told... it wasn't properly made, I didn't have a wakizashi + katana set and my hair wasn't as long as it should have been... I am currently still working on a cosplay that was suppose to have been finished about a month ago. Lets just say... its really damn hard to hunt down a teal blazer especially when exams are going on. ><

I've thought about it a few time but never had do to lack of sewing skills and the like. Looked a buying a ready made outfit but none of them were ever big enough to fit me, and the prices that the custom people wanted was way out of my budget. Resently thou I think I've come up with a way to do something on the cheap next time I can get to a anime con.

I cosplay a bit myself. Haven't done any recently though. I have a fair Jedi costume, a Vader helmet that I've been meaning to do something with, and Mandolorian helmet I've been making. I even once dressed up as a one eyed samurai with kimono, tsuba eyepatch, and shinai.

Dude I'd certainly cosplay and even die my hair red just for the cause, but the problem really is that I can't freaking afford to make/have someone make my cosplay! It's practically impossible if I want it as nice as Darth Vader's or Storm Trooper's shine. That's the sadness down the path of being fan of a great but not so popular game :/ You're lucky for the fame is what made your cosplay easier to get.

I cosplay as my character from Ragnarok Online at anime conventions. It was embarrassing at first (especially when you're in costume outside of convention areas) as people gawk, stare, and giggle, but now I just find it hilarious to see random peoples' reactions. Within the anime convention itself, you feel right at home since a large majority of the other people there are in cosplay. When you show up to one of these places without a costume, you start to feel a little bit left out. It's that same sort of feeling you get on Halloween when everyone else is dressed up, but you decided you were too old or too cool to dress up and seeing everyone else in costume makes you wish you had too. =^_^=

I don't have the scroat or the talent to cosplay, although I went to AX09 with shirts I custom-made. Got some nice compliments, too!

Maybe next year I'll go as Harima from School Rumble or something 'cuz he's not that complicated, lol.
