Nice catchy tune that goes along with the new Summer apparel ads for Aeon - tis the Summer season where girls are looking for Yukata or Mizugi to buy.
First up is Mizugi Magic - "Mizugi" [水着] is Bikini or Swimwear.

And the next one is Yukata Magic. Yukata is a traditional Japanese garment - like a kimono but with thinner cloth and usually worn during the Summer at festivals and Onsen (hot springs).

And the making of both commercials below.

They also got a website up for the current promotion at http://mizugi-magic.jp/ - the girls can also dig through the site to find some Samurai Magic too ^^

If you are interested in reading about life in Japan, seeing photos taken daily around Tokyo, like Japanese subculture (anime, manga, figures, Dollfies) then you may want to start delving into the Japan or Figure categories for a start or have a gander at all photo articles.

If you don't have much time now, maybe subscribe to the RSS Feed, Twitter Feed or join the other readers in the FaceBook Page.
Alternatively, you may want to read more about the site.
If you are a regular reader then this message will probably annoy you each time - hide it forever.

Did anyone else find the yukata commercial odd? It's like they prepared the entire pink-and-balloon-pool set for the swimsuit commercial, then just re-used it for the yukata one. Somehow the pink bubblegum + traditional clothing didn't sit too well with me.

hold up. is it the same song for a yukata as for a mizugi? thatz cheap. at least make one commercial for both instead with the girl in a yukata and then stripping down to a mizugi halfway through. thatz the way it would be in a perfect world.

That green bikini top looks a bit like that one on the Max Factory Naru Narusegawa figure.
I would go for the yukata though^^

Mizugi. The yukata CM felt a bit awkward.

mizugi... why fancy something that can be from any country? definitely yukata!!! if a picture is worth a thousand words, then a girl in yukata cannot be described just a thousand words ;p

The first add just makes me think of all those hair weaves clogging up the pool drains :P
I do like the look of Yukata's and think they could have potential in western fashion if marketed right.
