Photos taken last night at a party to celebrate the launch of the Otaku Encyclopedia held by the folks at Kodansha International. T'was held at some maid cafe. One of them was scary who was either throwing us back in the cafe or chucking us out when the place closed.
Great night of networking and catching up with familiar faces. Thanks to all who came!

Sounds like a pretty fun event, though I do wonder what the point of an otaku encyclopedia would be since the easy solution to gaining that sort of knowledge is just to keep one's pulse close to the anime community by partaking in watching a variety of shows, discussing it with others, and of course, blog! =)

It's for people who are not otaku, especially those who are studying the community/culture academically. The current status of the field is fascinating, though it's frustrating sometimes because it's so new and the people who are lauded for being groundbreaking write really inaccurate papers.
