Japan does it again, another innovative yet head scratching item came out called 'High School Girl Kimchi'! I honestly can't imagine if this particular kimchi will taste different than normal kimchi... Its description is funky at best and one of the ingredients is apple and you don't normally put apples in kimchi -_-
I will be sure to try this out if I get a chance to visit Japan again but it will be something I won't look forward to...

I LOL when people treat Kimchi like you eat it only. It's a garnish. You eat it alongside rice and other heartier foods to balance out the taste. You see it as a side dish on everything from ramen to udon to just normal rice-in-a-bowl meal. It's funny, because it's a 100% Korean dish and it has caught on in Japan.
Really well fermented Kimchi isn't only spicy, but it actually starts tasting a bit sweet too. Fermenting apples alongside Kimchi doesn't sound bad to me. Apples have a history of being fermented at least in asia for side dishes. I can see how it works.
