Update: Its complete!
Father of many Dollfie daughters Punynari updates us with more progress on the 1/1 scale Gundam that's being built in Odaiba - more pics at his burogu.

This is going to look too awesome when its finished.
Sneak peak of the arms. Bet Bandai is going to release a special edition kit of this.
Just over 4 weeks to go until the official opening on the 11th of July. The official page for the project states that its going to be on display until the 31st of August. Dont have any info about whether they will dismantle it after. Maybe we should start a petition to keep it up forever ^^;

Was fortunate enough to have a brief port visit just long enough to check the progress of the life sized RX-78 Gundam the Japanese are building in Odaiba Tokyo. It’s coming along nicely with the legs, waist, and arms finished. Also, the chest is now visible and the feet are now completed. Going to see this again; it is very rare that I am actually excited about something. Seeing all these completed parts. Something I will never forget.

just realized that the parts were manufactured in thailand and shipped for assembly on site in tokyo.
They should keep it! Just like that other Statue of Liberty replica a few blocks away, also in Odaiba.

Back when it was first built, Parisians actually want the "fugly" Eiffel Tower torn down after the World Expo in 1888. Good thing no one listened to their suggestions.
So, let's hope they get some sense and keep it for good. ;)

He's just being meticulous...In reality those decals would be important for maintenance purpose or just to keep people stay away..you don't want to suddenly blown away by the thrusters or opening hatches only because you don't know there's one near you when you're working with it..^^)

feh, special edition model kit will be a definite decision for Bandai...heck, they even release 00 in 2 different colors, so this one will also a go for their production line (not to mention people will buy like crazy for the models though, including me...^^)
