Hm, you can run a really versatile system if you were on the go and felt like carrying multiple cameras. O.o I imagine a John Woo movie about photographers someday. XD

Doesn't look like more 5000's since the two in the middle have a shorter nameplate located further down. D80 or D90's maybe ?

Aside from that, looks like no professional grade lenses, even a relativly short zoom of say 28-70 mm on a constant apperature of 2.8 is 2 or 3 times the size of "slower" lenses.

Danny, you should try the 50 F/1.8
It's so cheap, yet the MTF charts (i.e sharpness) completly set a benchmark standard.
Your only limited to a fixed range and will have to resort to "nike zoom" alot (i.e your feet :P) but if you have more than 1 body it's worth having around for the crispiest of portraits.

If you do get it, putting it at F4 is the sharpest spot it has.

I'm guessing someone wants you to join the Nikon side of the lens.

Oh yes. The perfect Nikon walk around lens if you must have just 1 and ready for any situation ?
Would be the 18-200 VR. Dubbed the "Freedom" lens. Apperture sweet spot under 100mm being 5.6 and above that 8. Don't bother with the current 28-105 VR kit lenses :-)

ive always liked the idea of having a camera that can take what-you-see photos, without all those huge lenses and lugging around. Now that I have that with a good canon i bought a few months back, I long for something more. probably a dumb question, but for the hobbyist photographer, is it worth getting an SLR? Mind you, when I say hobbyist, I like to take photos of scenes in daily life where ever I am, with lots of people in the photo. Beyond that, I am still learning all the techniques..
