Update - you can see me on BBC World here.

CNN done, BBC done - Time Magazine next. Was filming for BBC world in Shibuya today - will go live worldwide in about a months time. They will send me a DVD version to upload to YouTube when its ready.
The tall girl in the first photo was just gorgeous. As for the photo below, did you notice the schoolgirl or trooper first? From the thumbnail on my desktop I noticed the schoolgirl first ^^;

And we made the next trooper video. The start of the Salary Man Trooper series.
After the Death Star blew up, Stormtroopers were scattered all over the universe. The one sole trooper who landed in Tokyo had to look for a part time job and found one sweeping floors outside shops. As part of his job description, he also had to greet customers and they entered or left the establishments....

Thanks to Ken and Jonny Li for filming. Also check out Shibuya246 for some more photos. Ken should have some up later today too. Also bumped into many DC readers too which was great.

If you are interested in reading about life in Japan, seeing photos taken daily around Tokyo, like Japanese subculture (anime, manga, figures, Dollfies) then you may want to start delving into the Japan or Figure categories for a start or have a gander at all photo articles.

If you don't have much time now, maybe subscribe to the RSS Feed, Twitter Feed or join the other readers in the FaceBook Page.
Alternatively, you may want to read more about the site.
If you are a regular reader then this message will probably annoy you each time - hide it forever.

This item was posted in the Tokyo Stormtrooper category. You can see more of everything else or subscribe via RSS instead.

    I actually noticed the school girl first mainly because she contrasts with her surroundings. The white trooper suit just blends in with the light building. Love the part-timing trooper idea. I'd visit a store where that is the required working uniform! btw, just as a side comment: I first heard of Shibuya from the Dancing Tokyo Trooper videos. Next in line would be my favourite DS game, The World Ends With You, or commonly known in Japan as すばらしきこのせかい ^^;

    Ive never thought about all those unemployed stormtroopers. They've got it worse than we do with this economy? Once you've been a trooper all your life, its kinda hard to switch careers. Tie fighter pilots can probably fly former rebel transports. All those guys manning the Death Star's main gun could go into IT. They hover bike guys could become bike messengers. But what of the lowly trooper, the grunt?

    the idea for Salary Trooper is 100% AWESOMESAUCE.

    and so is being interviewed by the big media outlets all over za warudo. remember, the geek shall inherit the earth!

    I loved the final shot of you in the apron and with the broom. whoever tucked the handy water bottle was very kind - but did it have a straw for the poor trooper to refresh himself without necessarily revealing his face? XD

    trooper vs. schoolgirl: the lady in the red skirt was the most striking detail to me, so I saw you first. I had to look around the rest of the photo to see the schoolgirl! :)

    I took on the idea of a stormtrooper making a new life on Earth for a video that I did for a college class. And I posted it up on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0v6cbUzk_pw

    It seemed like a silly idea at first, but I was very satisfied on the final product. I'd really like to make more videos about the subject (if you can really call it that... ^__^)

    Both the girls in the first pic are hawt! (love to hook up with something that kawaii <sigh> )

    Schoolgirl was first, then the one in red.

    Troopers do have a good work ethic. Would make good employees, they do. ;) (Yoda voice)

    nah Danny, you just blended too well with the background. Have to say the girls stood out more, plus they're in 2/3 of the photo.

    I spotted the tropper first then after reading the text I notice the school girl was there on the right. Danny you really need to polish your armor or else you will become a dirty trooper.

    I think most people notice the school girl because she's at a better angle and perspective. I'm assuming you purposely did that though. Whether to make yourself look more natural in the background, or so that you could ask a funny question on your blog...we will never know. :P

    Seeing the trooper reminded me of the Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO trailer I saw today...

    FF XIV or Star Wars MMO... o.o
