Dollfie Custom Head

If you don't like any of the retail heads on Dollfies then you can always go for a custom one.

The first one is a Mio Akiyama one - the auction on yahoo started at 5,000 yen but it looks like the seller removed it in order to improve the face apparently.

The following head is by sculptor known as Kurosabaibu.
This pair of 3 heads went up on auction and fetched 150,000 yen.

And the rest of these custom heads seem to be also by Kurosaibaibu and can be seen at galaxypolice. Not sure whether that is actually Kurosabaibu-sans blog or whether it belongs to a fan of his work.
Thanks to Kana1 for pointing out some of these on Yahoo auction.
Via Taitan desu.

...or was it Suisenseki? Anyways, the expressions are epicly Anime esque and looks much better than some of the professionally made ones.

and indeed, those are awesome, anime-esque expression!!!
though it's a good decision to improve Mio. I think the slant on her eyes can be fixed. those are good, but there's still a lot of room for improvement for mio face. ganbatte, sculptor ^^

I really like the one which looks like Tenori Taiga...
Its soo cute. Yeah the other expressions were fantastic too.
They look heaps good in pictures.... but I'm wondering how the owner will feel about the limitations of a fixed expression.

Buying more expressions is an answer, but I believe its not cheap?

Wow! Impressive stuff! I love the more comedic expressions; kind of gives the dollfies a fun, playful, cartoony flair instead of the serious and stoic look they tend to have.

Wonder how much effort goes into making these? Ahh, making my own custom heads would be so cool (nevermind the fact that I lack a dollfie) if I only had the talent for it! I tip my hat to the folks that do!

Now that's nice! Really closes the gap between 2D expressions and 3D dolls a bit. Although it will also mean you're swapping heads continuously...

Custom heads are good, but the trouble is to get a good one you spen a whole ton of money. I've seen professional quality custom doll heads sell for more then the actual doll does. Dollfie dream heads included. Some of them fetch an awfully high price. For people think dollfie are expensive, I really hope you don't fall in love with an expensive head like this. If you do, you're in trouble!

When I get a job and I can afford the parts and materials, I'm totally gonna make a few custom heads, they're just the best.

I really like the one on the right in the fourth pic. It has so many options for a diorama or phtoshoot. The last two are really nice, too. Looking at all the pics of Dollfies on this site has made really think about getting one, but they're so expensive and so are the all the accessories and whatnot. I think for now, I'll just stick with Revoltechs. Maybe some Figmas, too. I don't have any Figmas yet, though.

The first one you said was removed to be made better could have been used as an adult lucky star character face. The girl so angry her eyes to cross-eyed is great. I can see this is where I would have to go with hobby skills making if I got into Dollfies of any size. Making the custom heads so each doll had at least 12 different heads I could pop on and pop off at will. Giant Figma face change idea. Don't think I could gain the skill to make exchangeable faces only for a uni-open head though. Oh and the work table would now at least have to be shoulder level as leaning forward kills my lower back. /sigh

Theres the place to acually make some money from a non-stop home project, if you can make them where it won't break or wallow out the snap in holes for the neck.

That's a pretty good idea for making facial expressions on a Dollfie. Too bad they're costly IMO.

I don't think I'd buy a dollfie with a facial expression like that...what if later on down the road you get bored with her face?

Otherwise, a lot of work and detail went into making them!

Agreed. I'm not sure how much I would like my doll looking surprised or angry all the time.
I actually bought one doll that has their eye brows wrinkled all the time and it bugs me.

now i know why i don't like dollfies...they don't show any emotions on those faces. its too bland. with these custom heads though they look attractive. ^^ the 9th picture from the top looked very cute it makes me cringe. lol

    Dream dolfies are looking more and more appealing. Ah... ><;

Custom faces are (understandably) too expensive, so I'd be fine with the default head.

*very much considering it* If I can sell one of my other dolls...

    And a question:
Is it possible to move the eyes, like they're looking to the left when the doll is actually facing you?
